I don't have the patience to do so right now. But I would love to have her, she has such a nice color scheme. Even beyond that, Twinkle Eyed Ponies are a set I'd like to complete.

I did not think she was real as we did not have her in the uk but as soon as I found out they did make her I had to have her.

And she was cheap so that helped a lot haha point blank refuse to pay what she normally goes for.

Mimic is very special to me, as she was a surprise gift from my parents. I couldn't believe it when I saw a pony package waiting on the bed, and then when I pulled out mimic I was like :shocked: For this reason, she’s an incredibly special pony to me and she is proudly displayed at the front of the twinkle eye shelf, next to sweet pop and bright eyes. Only quackers to go!

I like her pose and color scheme and I'd like to complete my set. Not in a rush to get her though, I'm patient for a good deal or finding her in the wild. :biggrin:

Ill pass. If she were cheap, maybe, but I don't care for her body color, and would resell for profit unless she was a gift.

This is something people have said for years but it's really unlikely that thats the case. Mimic had a whole animated special that was about her. And her price was already crazy in the mid 1990s when it was still much easier to get G1 at second hand markets very easily and cheaply. Mimic was highly in demand very early, so the theory she was hated when new is a bit redundant now IMO.

The bigger likelihood is quota in a box to a store. My sister's told me that now for example Coloratura comes 1 in a box of 6 ponies. I suspect Mimic might have been similar. Mimic and Bright Eyes both seem about the same in terms of rarity but Mimic is more expensive so I would put that down to the Magic Horseshoes episode making her more popular.

I have her. She was my first ever online trade and I got her in November 1997. I traded a Gypsy for her, back when Gypsy was a new and shiny International pony :) I have had two others in my life, one of which I found at the local car boot sale. She wasnt sold here, but I think she was in Italy, so I assume she came here from there.

And her name is perfect :) And I love the magic horseshoes episode, it was one of the two first episodes of G1 I got :) But I can't justify her price, and I am not in a hurry, so the only way I will get one is in the wild or as a gift!

I found one on Craigslist in a lot for a decent price; like others have said, I don't think I could justify spending high prices on her unless she were higher on my wish list (she was just at normal, "oh! she's cute, I'd like her" level :lol:)

Her colours are refreshingly free from pink and purple (minus the small pink stripe), and her symbol is delightfully frill free! Am a bird watcher, so I appreciate her parrot symbol. Green ponies are sadly underrepresented in general, so I love picking up new ones. Overpriced to be sure, but I hate having incomplete sets, so I had to buy her. It was very satisfying to finally own her, as "The Golden Horseshoes" was one of my favourite episodes when I was growing up, and she became a firm favourite of mine when I was young. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to own her when I was a child, but now that childhood dream is a reality.

My daughter thought the same thing. Her Sunrise Song is married to Barnacle and their daughter is the Baby Mimic I had commissioned for her for Christmas. ^.^

Their children were Baby Frosting and Baby Bridesmaid I think. Never thought about putting her with Barnacle. Can't actually remember who Naynie married Barnacle off to at this moment. I can only remember Mimic and Chief and Honeycomb with Sunburst...

My Mimic <3 I feel like she's a love/hate marmite pony for people, she creates strong opinions. I really love her, but I genuinely don't think her prices online are at all sane. :/

Doubt I would even if she didn't go for such a ridiculous price, she's not really my cup of tea.. Though, if I found one in the wild or otherwise somehow came into possession of one, I'd probably keep her, if just because it'd be the only way I'd ever get one :P
