Title: Important Question
Post by: bright rabbit 1 on October 09, 2017, 09:05:30 AM
As some of you know I have an Italian Gusty pony, the neck post and body are in a very bad way. The head doesn't stay on, what's the best way to fix this poor pony, so that I can have her with my other ponies. All the other ponies shunned her because of the way she looks.

Please help her.

a picture would help
have you tried gluing her head back on (even if that means cutting out the neck plug)?

As you can see some of the head has the body on it.

Sorry for the grubbynish but I haven't washed or cleaned the inside yet

How gore!
Have you tried to glue it with glue-gun glue?

Could try glueing it but you can see where it's not joined properly. I'm more concerned by the body.

Hmmm. Maybe gluegun + then tie a ribbon around her neck to hide the uneven join?

I was thinking of using clay to fix the body, but I can't use polymer clay or Apoxie sculpt because of the fumes. Or I could try putty.

You should check in the Corral to make sure whatever you plan on using won't damage the pony further, since you're not going to be customizing/painting it.

FYI - There are no fumes with Apoxie Sculpt or Apoxie Clay.  It smells like a stronger version of Play-doh.

I would clean it, let it dry thoroughly, and then glue it with whatever glue you can handle the fumes from.  I use a hobby, gap filling super glue, but maybe a glue gun or something like that might be best for you.  Since she is Gusty (a Fall/Autumn themed pony) you could make a little scarf for her that would cover the neck...either make one from felt/fabric (choose colors that won't bleed onto her plastic) or commission someone to knit/crochet one.  Good luck! :)

Personally I'd use super glue to fix her head back on :)

Ditto this. There's definitely enough contact area for super glue.

I wonder if some sort of putty would be okay to use. If not I'll have to get another Majesty Pony and custom her into Gusty or if anyone is in the U.K have a baity Gusty then I could use her as gusty. Just put a tail on my Baby Gusty. Can't reroot it yet because I've got to get some more needles.

I wonder if this would work

I wonder if this would be okay to seal dyed ponies.
