Is there hope for hair like this?

I need some advice from more seasoned pony restorers.

I've succesfully tamed very frizzed hair but I have few ponies whose hair is so bad I'm not sure what to do. One of them is Sweet Pocket here:

This image is taken AFTER I thoroughly conditioned, combed and flat ironed the hair. The question is, should I keep repeating the treatment routine or just give up and rehair? Is there anybody who's tamed a hair like this?

I think you should rehair. In the end, it will be less work to simply rehair her and never have to worry 'bout her mane again.

Lol, I have her sister Bubblefish whose tail actually looks like it belongs to a Perfume Puff!    I haven't even started with that one yet.

Hm, curls might make that mess look slightly better. How slightly, that remains to be seen.

You could try slowly going over it with a flat iron on low setting, with either conditioner or fabric softener in the hair while you are ironing. This sometimes helps frizz.

And like Sternenstaub said, curls are an idea, too. You can hide a lot of frizz with curls.

Her hair actually looks as though it has been burned - you get that effect when the hair is exposed to heat for too long - as though its been held in a flat iron when too dry or for too long.

Honestly if you have tried all the normal conditioning etc and even flat ironed again, I would think its likely she may simply not improve from this condition unfortunately. So whether you simply make it work through curls and ringlets or rehair its your call!

hehe, my thoughts exactly! She is an old lady so it´s fine if she´s not perfect I think she displays quite fine.
You can always braid her or as said before, give her curls and see how that works

I have a G3 Donkey Pose Minty with the same hair problem.  if she doesn't tame down ... Im gonna morph her into G4 Granny Smith!

love it! for that fact alone she looks SPECTACULAR! i'd give her a happy forever home lol the four sweet pockets i've come across have had nice hair ... no bee or no pocket even lol

Aw, look how pink her hair is still! I vote for keeping her has is. Her hair isn't silky smooth but it gives her character! =) Braiding and curling are good suggestions. I'd even suggest you just tie some ribbons in her hair and leave her be.
