Sun Halo

Hey!  I just had to share my pics of this absolutely gorgeous sun halo that presented itself during my garage sale.  It's a 22 degree circle halo...and my pictures don't even do it justice.

Thanks guys!  It's actually one of the more common halos, but you're right, they don't come up too often.  It stayed around for about fifteen minutes, too!  I was thrilled.

Those are always fun to see and have you ever seen sun dogs? they are diamond shaped patches of light on either side of the sun, when they are around the moon they are called moon dogs. I have also seen a rainbow ring around the moon too.

I love sun dogs!  I've never seen moondogs except in photographs, though.  Nor the 22 halo around th moon.  I've seen the close-around moon halo though.  Halos fascinate me.

I once saw a green flash they only appear rarely just after sunset or sunrise. I doubt i will ever see one again.

And I bet it wasn't like the one from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.    I've never actually seen then but in photos.  I hope to though!
