The Dollhouse / Wonder Woman Dolls
« on: June 18, 2017, 04:05:03 PM »
With the new movie out there are a few dew dolls out. I like several of them but decided to spend the money to get the black label barbie. She's gorgeous!

Pony Brag Arena / The final grail - Giant blank pony project pony!
« on: April 14, 2016, 06:35:28 AM »
In pony collecting I have always had 3 grails - Dutch Diary pony, MOC Barnacle, and the giant G3 pony project pony. Thanks to a fabulous member here I finally have completed my quest! I'm soooo happy to add her to my collection. I will have to find a super fantastic spot of honor for her.

It had been a long time since I'd seen one of these girls in person, I'd almost forgotten how big they truly are!

This girl had been untouched with her original rubber bands still in her hair. While I was tempted to keep her as original as possible, I couldn't resist a spa day.

It took quite a while to carefully condition and brush her hair out, and then to set it all in straws to curl it. But the end result was worth it!

Customs / DH haunted forest
« on: March 31, 2016, 08:24:43 AM »
I think this color might be just what I'm looking for for an upcoming project, but I don't recall seeing it on customs. And sometimes the little swatches on DHs site aren't quite enough to determine. So does anyone have customs using this hair color they could show me? Or does anyone have some in their stash and could take a picture of it in natural light? Thanks!

Pony Brag Arena / Grail of grails!
« on: December 10, 2015, 10:10:02 PM »
I've never really been interested in MOC/MIB ponies. Except for one. One that I never thought I'd be lucky enough to own. But when it came up on ebay I let my fingers get the better of me... I couldn't let him get away!

So now I have my graliest of grails, the star of my army that I never thought I'd own... MOC Barnacle!!

I wanted to get him into 'protective custody' immediately to keep him safe. As soon as I picked him up from the post office I ran out to find a shadow box he'd fit in and came home and decorated it fittingly.

Pony Corral / No more Ohio pony meet?
« on: July 13, 2015, 05:43:47 AM »
So I know last year the Ohio Pony Meet wasn't able to happen. I assume it's not going on this year either as I've seen nothing posted about it? This breaks my heart a little as this was not only the closest meet to me but totally the best! There was always good attendance and a lot of fun to be had. The hostesses always did a great job, and I know they put a lot of work into it. Does anyone know if this meet is lost and gone forever or if there are any plans to revive it?

Customs / Madam D'Ivoire - monochrome swap for Salli
« on: April 10, 2015, 04:25:10 PM »
Wahoo! So here's the pony I made for Salli for the monochrome swap. From her list of colors and themes I felt that ivory/cream and Victorian really worked well together. I was struck by a victorian gown I found while searching for inspiration. Originally I intended to try some sewing but decided to play on my strengths and sculpt instead. All sculpted with apoxie sculpt. I'm especially fond of her bustle. The only thing that's not apoxie are the small pearl beads around her cuffs.

Trader & Shipping Support / Experience shipping to Russia?
« on: February 17, 2015, 07:17:18 AM »
Nothing has happened, I'm mostly just looking for some peace of mind.

I sold an item on ebay for over $300 and it's going to Russia. I am sending it via priority mail as I do for all my international ebay items. However, Russia does not play nice with the USPS at all, apparently. At checkout I was told that my destination does not offer delivery confirmation, I could not pay to add signature confirmation, I could not purchase insurance through ShipSave. The message said I could buy insurance from the post office but I was not able to do so through ebay. I tried to buy postage straight through the USPS website as I do for non-ebay items, but of course the USPS website refuses to acknowledge the cyrillic alphabet so it kept telling me my address was invalid!

So I had little choice but to go ahead and buy the postage through ebay. I'm hoping when I go to the post office this evening to drop it off I can purchase additional insurance through them.

The whole thing just has me really nervous because I don't like not having any recourse if my buyer claims the item didn't arrive. I really hope I'm freaking out over nothing. I ship internationally all the time with no issues but Russia is a first for me. Has anyone here had good experiences shipping to Russia? :)

Off Topic / Pets with asthma
« on: January 07, 2015, 06:52:52 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone else has a pet who has asthma. I had a pretty scary weekend having to check my cat into the emergency animal hospital because he couldn't breathe. After a few x-rays, a lot of oxygen, a few days and nights observation and several medications the vets there diagnosed him with feline asthma. I'd never really heard of asthma in cats before, but now after reading more about it I can see that he's been showing symptoms the whole time I've had him and I just mistook them for something else (which is pretty common apparently.)

I will be visiting his regular vet to talk with them about what this means for him long term as far as medication and lifestyle changes. But I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and can tell me about their experience.

One of my kitties is very ill and the vet bills are already well beyond my savings, so I'm having to try to sell a few things.

Customs / Bewitching - Halloween Swap pony
« on: October 20, 2014, 10:24:01 AM »
My partner for the halloween swap was StrawberryMeadow, and there were a few things that stood out in her answers. One was that she liked the dressing up aspect of halloween, so I knew I wanted to do a dressed up pony. She also mentioned liking cute witches, so that was my costume inspiration. She also mentioned that she liked glitter, so I wanted to make sure I had at least a little sparkle. And lastly was that StrawberryMeadow just looooves twinkle eyes - so we know what that means!

This was my first time making a TE pony, but it was fun. Her eye gems are sculpted in with apoxie. Her corset dress is sculpted with apoxie with a paint and glitter design on the bodice. She has a removable witch hat, also sculpted. Her hair is a blend of five nylon colors.

Hi ponies! Some of you may have seen some of these resin pieces in the past, but I finally got some new ones up in my etsy shop! They're cast in resin, have tons of sparkle, and make great gifts for pony lovers of all ages. They're notoriously hard to photograph but here are few examples of what I have for sale. I also take custom orders!

Customs / Wit Beyond Measure - a Ravenclaw pony (HP Swap)
« on: August 18, 2014, 04:50:44 PM »
My partner for the Harry Potter swap was Salli. She had a lot of great things on her list and I felt like we had fairly similar tastes, but coming up with an idea was still a challenge. I knew I wanted to do a Ravenclaw pony and just kind of went from there. I knew I wanted to include a lot of little details from the series - books, potions, wands, scarves, etc - so I decided to make a Ravenclaw pony who was studying hard. I also wanted to show the magic of books (especially magic books!) and was inspired a bit by this (non HP related) comic cover http://adamhughes.deviantart.com/art/Zatanna-14-207783029

Anywho! So. The pony started as a G3 blossomforth who was reposed to be sort of crouching down to get a closer look at her book. She's got a parchment finish on her body and her symbol is an eagle (the symbol of Ravenclaw house) on a stack of books.

The base is almost all hand made. I needed a pretty specific size and needed it to be hollow, so I made the box itself. Its covered with apoxie sculpted and painted to look like a stone floor. Mostly hand made books and scrolls, a sculpted ink well with real feather quill, a wand of course, and some creative potions and ingredients.

And the focal piece - a sculpted resin potion book, hand painted potion recipe on it - with just a hint of magic ;)

« on: August 09, 2014, 11:16:01 AM »
I've been on a pony roll lately! It feels good to be customizing again. This pony had been haired for a long time and waiting for inspiration, and I finally got around to finishing her up. Standard size g4. She has sculpted shells and pearls adorning her body and sparkly bubbles  painted on her back.

She is for sale for $45 plus shipping. PM me if interested :) on hold
