you only say that because you didn't grow up playing with the BBE ones. :P BBE Baby Heartthrob, BBE Baby Ribbon and of course BBE Baby Gusty -are all childhood orginals for me. :D

Not so! I had BBE Baby Ribbon, Baby Lofty, and Baby Sleepy pie as a child and they were sort of the red-headed step children of my heard. I kept wishing Hasbro would make normal ones. Even when I was 6 I hated those things!

PS- I AM a red-headed step child so I'm allowed to say that :P

What amazes me is how determinedly the comics people flaunted Firefly, Moondancer, Bubbles, and a bunch of other ponies who, I have heard, were never released in the UK.  Maybe it was to make them crave the expensive castle even more? "Mummy, mummy, look!! A pony who is ACTUALLY IN THE COMICS!!  Please can I have her, oh please?"

Wait a minute... I knew there weren't So-softs or BBEs in the UK, but are you saying there weren't other ponies, too? I'm gathering there was no adult Heartthrob, no Moon Dancer, no Bubbles, no Firefly???? What other ponies did the UK miss out on????

UK didn't get any of the two Uni and Peg sets. But they did get both the earth pony set's. :)

They also missed out on the second Rainbow Pony set (but they did get Wedding Bells confetti, not exclusively though as we got it to here in Sweden to).

and they did'nt get any adult sea ponies, except the 3 UK exclusive ones.

and the list get's longer, but now my boyfriend needs the computer so I leave it to someone else to fill in :P ;)

Oh, wow! I always hear about ponies that were exclusive to other countries, but not much about what was exclusive here. I know some of the MOs were exclusive to the US, and BBEs and So-softs, what other ponies were US exclusive?

Oh we have bunches. The second sets of almost every pony, -Rainbows, Princesses, TE's, TAF's lots of the later sets were short-boxed they only got 4 ponies out of the six or so. The first two unicorn and pegasus sets were not sold in the UK. They got the TE's but no Sweet Pop, Mimic, Bright Eyes or Quackers.

We missed out on a terrifying list of ponies :P Yes there are lots of UK/Euro "exclusives" but the list of ponies which are technically US "exclusives" is just as long...we also got a lot of later sets reduced by a couple of ponies.

You know... That may be why certain US Ponies - Mimic, Bright Eyes second year TAF's and Princesses etc... are higher in cost - not just because they were the second release thus not as many people bought into the second sets... No because they weren't released overseas so all the collectors from overseas are buying them up second hand causing the supply to be shorter than the demand...

That could well be the case - a lack of outside US release for so many ponies does perhaps explain why they come on to the market less often...and subsequently become more expensive.

Wow!  I feel silly now, but I totally never considered this.  I just always thought you guys got all the same ponies as North America, and then some.  I guess that explains why most of my TE and SS buyers are from overseas.
