My first thought when I read that part was, "If you have 7 kids and are strapped for cash, they should not be going to an expensive Catholic school. You should be sending them to a public school instead." They'd save a whole lot of money that way.

I totally wonder about this when it comes to my local listings.  There are people trying to sell lots of 20 super common G1 ponies, with hair cuts, cancer and regrind, for $300!  Either they didn't actually research their value, or they don't really want to sell them :/

$600 for G1 Applejack? I can understand if someone is in need of cash for some high cause, but this is just ridiculous.

I don't think G1 AJ is one of the rarest ponies out there, so there's no need for such a high price. The only exception would be if AJ was some kind of a rare Nirvana variant, and this one obviously isn't. Heck, even Italian AJ wouldn't be worth this much!

While the outrageously overpriced ponies are amusing, I do get tired of the regularly overpriced ones, too.  Like wanted twice a mint pony's worth for a cancerous g1 with a haircut.  Sheesh.  It's difficult to find a good pony on ebay in good collector's shape, and then those are all crazy high.

Not really - it costs a lot in final valuation fee if the item sells but not in listing price - I listed old work equipment for £6500 the other day and the listing cost me £0.40!
