Int'l Princess Sparkle restored! (lotsa pics!)

So a little bit ago I posted about getting myself an International Princess Sparkle on eBay... kinda baity, kinda dirty, no "saddle" part... I've been dedicated to trying to get her looking lovely again, and I thought I'd show my results.

Here's how she arrived: ratty hair, tangled tinsel that had gotten snarled up in her crown and bow tie. A red stain on her face, and her battery cover saddle was missing. In addition, the contacts in her battery compartment were rusty. Still lots of beauty there, but lots of work to be done!

There was quite a bit to do. I gently scrubbed the red from her cheek, then carefully untangled her hair from her crown and bow tie.

I used boiling water, dryer sheets, conditioner and a curling iron set on low to tame her hair and tinsel.

Then, I set about replacing her saddle. The wonderful Nemubones gave me some great detailed shots of how it should look, and... while I'm not very good with sculpting and paint detail, I think I gave it a pretty good try. Overall I'm pleased with the result.

While her saddle replacement isn't perfect, I think it's a pretty good try for handmade. And in the end I think she looks wonderful and I'm proud to have her in my herd!

Is she worth something? I have one in mint condition. I don't know much about her, other than I liked the fact she glowed.

I was under the impression that she's worth a decent amount in good condition? In the condition I got her, before shipping she was only about $2, which I feel is a real steal, especially considering how nice she looks now. Like a lot of Euro/UK exclusives, I think she's worth a bit more in the places she wasn't released. Most of the cost for me to buy her was in the shipping.

She really is so beautiful and unique! It can be rather expensive to collect international ponies, but she's so lovely and interesting that I decided I really wanted her in my herd. She has a special spot in the Dream Castle right now!

I'm glad the pictures helped and she looks fantastic! She looks happy to be reunited with her royal cape. So lovin the reaction from Steven in the background.  Yukiru was right, he does look impressed!
