It's a mixed bag around here since the pandemic since toy sections are a lot more unkempt. with varying levels of overflowing and empty depending on brands.

These evoke the same “this is a knockoff with the mlp name” feeling that g2 had on me as a child the first time I saw those in a store. They remind me of Five Surprise Unicorn squad with a dash of uncanny valley. It's weird because some shots don't look too bad, and others are just - no! The toys look pretty wonky, their head attachment is like g3.5 bulbous style

I've only seen the first set around here, but I haven't been out too much.

-headdesk- So my curiosity got the better of me and I made more inquiries at work about these 'hot new toys', and apparently this is what everyone has been talking about? They're called "mini brands"?
1.) They are not Hasbro 2.) I don't think they're really aimed at girls? 3.) They're not Target exclusive.
4.) I have noooo idea why these would be popular.
This just goes to show that you don't go by what your coworkers are saying about toys unless they are a toy collector like you are, because they will get all the details wrong.
Gamestop (of all places!) is the only place I've seen these at. They're cute, I just wish they were more in scale with eachother. They were $10 there, idk if that's a markup or not.

I wouldn't like it, because she looks like a watered-down G3. Nothing about the sculpt makes her "pop" next to fakies or actual ponies, she has no stylization.
Still cute though, if a bit small.

With only 10 stores, I don't think I'm getting my job back.
The consignment thing is interesting, I wonder if it will push companies to only sell safe-selling toys there at risk of them piling up like Glimmies/Zak Storm/BattleClaw/etc? That could be a problem, TRU was always good bet at finding very specific things because they had more shelf space for each compared to Target/Walmart/etc.

I managed to find one today at the retro ponies, I guess that's lucky since many stores by me are on the slow side or loaded with the scented ones. They had a BUNCH of Stranger Things stuff by the Funko/NECA stuff, there was a cart with boxes in that area still unpacking, didn't see anything Basic Fun there.
IMO her body is bluer in person, she looks almost white in photos online. It's a very pretty color combo and it's nice to see Basic Fun get a little more experimental.

I'd be more excited to see Minty and Luna if they dropped the balloon heads.

I saw it and think they handled it respectfully. It focused on how the suiters (interviewed in the special) discovered the furry community and how it helps them cope with their anxiety/PTSD/etc, culminating to them going to Anthro Northwest. I didn't recognize anyone they talked to except Telephone (am I out of touch?).

I've seen them at Target only once in the pony section. They've also had them at Micheals at a markup ($8 iirc? it's been a while).

I checked mine and it seems fine, I play it exclusively in handheld mode.
