What's The Most Amount Of Money You Would Pay For A Pony?
« on: September 07, 2014, 11:13:59 PM »
I'm wondering what is your price range/money limit when it comes to pony purchases?

Honestly my limit would be $500. I know it's high but there's exceptions to be made ;P specifically, Rosey Posey and Mimic :) (I hope that's enough  :lookround: )

If it's a "common" pony (which G3s, G1s, and HTF G4s really aren't :s ) then it would be $30-$50.

So what about you? :P
Oh no!

Well, the most I've actually paid is $250.
I stopped bidding on one before when it got over $400. So I guess that's my limit. I couldn't bring myself to bid higher at the time for that particular pony. There's only one other I can think of that I might consider paying that much for.
Those were for rare prototypes I really wanted though.

For regular release ponies I pretty much have been able to get mine all in store as they are released, so retail price.
For an exclusive that I don't have retail access to, somewhere around $30-40 shipped is my max.
For Funko chase figures, the most I've paid is $74 shipped but I try to keep at about $50-$55 max. for most.

$500 ~ although there's pretty much only one pony that I would shell out this much $$$ for.  Normally even $50 seems too high, but there is the occasional pony that seems worth it, especially if that particular pony usually goes for more (i.e. if I found Baby Sugarcake, Dutch Diary, or Mountain Boy Ice Crystal for $50, you better believe I'd swoop them up at that price). ;)

$70 is as high as I would be willing to go.  Customs and rares included.
"How much for the horse tornado?"
"Sir, that's a carousel."
"I must have it!"

$100 is my absolute limit per pony. I think the most I have spent is about $80 on the unopened welovefine Muffin figure (when it first came out) and my NMIB Muffin SDCC who I spent $82ish on last year in Jan.

And when I say $500 that is only in the instance that I were to have that much disposable cash lying around, lol.  Say Rapunzel was the pony in question... first of all, she would have to be minty mint at that price, and if she came with her accessories, even better.  It would also depend on current demand, recent sale prices, etc.  But even then I would have to have that much extra money and probably a momentary lapse in judgment, too. ;) Like, middle of the night bidding on too much caffeine kind of temporary insanity.

So far, the most I have spent on an individual pony is £35. I think my top would be £100 for a certain few ponies. But that'll be later down the line, I've still got cheaper ones to get so I'll just try to get those first and work my way up. At the moment even getting up to £50 seems a bit much. But I probably will do that eventually.

About $10, I guess? I try to stick to $5 or even less, but there are some that are rare and pretty...

Have Paid: Individual ponies, the most would be $50, but that's for a playset pony retail. Just a pony, the most would be about $16.

Would Pay: My limit though, really is the average value of the pony in question. I try to get bargains, but in the end, when it comes to completing my collection, I'm happy to pay what's fair for the ponies I want. But for now I'll be sticking to bargain hunting!

I guess it depends how much spare money I have and how rare the pony is. There are some MOC/ MIBs where I really need to restrain myself from throwing non-available funds out of the window. Drooooool .....
The most I have paid until now is around 200 EUR I think.

well, I my high bid on MOC white Bluebelle was $750, so I guess that's the most I'd be willing to spend on a pony!

She was my 'if it even exists' daydream grail, though, so I doubt I'll ever spend more than $300 on any one pony in the future, and that would have to be one special pony...

I don't know if I have a limit.  As long as I can save the money for a pony, then I don't feel bad about it.  I've never bought one for $600 for example, but if I had the money, I can't say I wouldn't.  I've never brought myself to pay more than $80 at a time though.
