Wow, what a beautiful result! This is encouraging, although all my ponies with bad frizz also have a hair type that is prone to melting easily >_< Maybe I just have to go through several iterations of straightening with lower heat and hope I can achieve the same you did.

Keep trying <3! If it melts (never happened to me) use a lower setting :)

This is actually really inspiring. Your dedication makes me want to go and try and sort out my Waverunner, rather than just buying a new one.

just WOW! She looks absolutely mint! I would have never thought she was salvaged :D

And here's another vote for a picture tutorial! Also, could you tell me what the difference is between using a straightening iron and using a curling iron on ponies?
I actually went out of my way to buy a straightening iron just for ponies (my hair is completely straight :P) but I never had such great results! although it has made  some of my ponies look at least presentable ^^ but the hair still stays pretty stiff.

My hair is pin straight as well :) :highfive:

It's important to only use very small sections of hair at a time. Many times people feel rushed and they take a chunk, when it's best to work with only a few plugs at a time.I typically do three at a time, or on worse jobs, even less. A regular defrizzing session takes me a half hour to a full hours work. More complicated works do show up though, like this one.

I use a curling iron because it was convenient. It was my mothers, and she was getting rid of it because her new hair cut didn't require one. I picked it up :) I use to exactly like a straightener, and for ponies with curly hair, on low heat, I do a quick 'curl' before wrapping it in a sponge roller. It helps to encourage natural curl in ponies like Goldie here :)

haha, things we do for ponies ^^
And thanks for the explanation! I use a big chunk of hair, and I do tails in one go :S so I guess I see now where my problem lies :) see, this is why you need to make a good step-by-step tutorial :D whenever you have the time and will of course

That looks absolutely amazing!

Have you tried your techniques with color-change hair before?  I have a poor Seaflower who I managed to partially tame using conditioner and a straightener, but her pink streak is still frizzy. Maybe I should crank up the heat a little!

Neat pics!

Ooh nice. I need some curlers (I've been thinking of getting some og those mini travel ones as they seem perfectly sized).
But my Golilocks needs a new do along with quite a few other G1s

yes, and the frizz comes back and the color changing properties of the hair is ruined =/

Gorgeous! Its fantastic to see a pony getting her hair restored rather than replaced. If you get another pony in similar condition, a picture tutorial would be amazing. Congrats honey!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
