Ever been allergic to a pony? O.o
« on: February 27, 2022, 01:34:08 PM »
I bought a loose G3 pony a while back, and handled her during a spa day and when I put her for display with my other ponies. I'm like anyone else and like to hold the ponies and play with their hair. But after a while I noticed that I get itchy eyes after touching her specifically. :| I have cat allergies and this is a similar reaction to what happens when I'm around them. I just don't understand since I gave her a good wash why it still happens... do I need a replacement pony? It has put a strain on my enjoyment of collecting as now I'm hesitant of touching them.

Yes! Coconut Grove. She drove my allergies bonkers. Itchy, water eyes always happened after picking her up.

Have heard of others who were bothered by one or more of the scented G3 ponies specifically. Which pony is it you are having this issue with? Did the pony come from a home with cats? I hope you can figure out why this one is bothering you.

I'd give her a very thorough wash, it may have been from the old owner's home? It may be that you have a new allergant from something that hasn't caught your attention yet in the house or yard?

Yes!!! Same here! I have 2 of her that came in separate G3 lots. I didn't know she came in the second lot (must have been hidden in the picture), but the minute the box was opened her stench wafted out and I knew there must be a CG in there and there was! I have them both in isolation until I can rehome them.

I haven’t had any problems with g3 ponies, but if I get leaky plasticizer from g1 ponies on me, my hands get swollen, red, and itchy if I don’t wash it off fast enough.

I remember Tropical Surprise (scented G3 pony) made my eyes sting.  Coconut Grove was also terrible.  I'm glad scented ponies lose their scent as time goes by, lol.  Ugh.

This happens to me too.  I have to be careful not to touch the regrind parts of a pony.
