what is your favourite childhood Hallowe'en special?

In the 80's Halloween cartoons were broadcast here in Canada and the States in prime time, with that dancing, spinning SPECIAL title that would ignite a spark within me every time I saw it. I knew it was a show I'd see at no other time of year. It was before VCR's, we couldn't just pop in a DVD whenever and watch it...we were at the mercy of the teleprompter and channel scheduling.
We'd sit in front of the TV at the appointed time...we'd have been looking forward to this SPECIAL for weeks, since it had been advertised as coming, and the family would gather around and watch this amazing, entertaining, and truly special event, whether it was Halloween, Christmas, Easter...we'd be there, because it was our only chance for a whole other year.
At Hallowe'en a certain cartoon called "Witch's Night Out" would play. This was truly my favourite cartoon special of all time. More than Rhudolph, more than Frosty, more even than the 10 Commandments, THIS was my shining moment for television to come alive before my eyes.
It's a Canadian cartoon...and now i want to share it with you. I don't know if we can post youTube links, so just type in Witch's Night Out in the search, press play, and laugh yourself stupid on me. Guilda Radner is one of the voices...see if you can guess which!

It wasn't really for kids I guess, but I loved the Simpson treehouse of horrors. Then getting older I liked the Roseanne specials. Then ooh it wasn't just for Halloween but the Are you Afraid of the Dark

in Australia we dont really get Halloween specials. we get horror movies like The Grudge and Human Centepede. my favourite one shown so far would be... maybe Ring? the Japanese original not the stupid American one

Also, any time Hocus Pocus comes on, I instantly stop flipping channels and watch.  I love that movie.

It's not exactly a special, but one station aired The Addams Family cartoon all the time around halloween when I was a kid. I loved that show.

Mine was always Hocus Pocus! but I also really love Halloween town, lol I found a dvd set of the Halloween town movies and have already watched the :p I save Hocus Pocus for Halloween night, after i take my son out trick or treating of course. :p
