What is it about Chief?
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:10:07 PM »
So I got Chief and he has some cancer spots. I intended to sell him but he is so handsome, I just can't do it! So he's staying in my herd. What do you guys think? Did I make the right choice? :lookround:

He's gorgeous, I love his gold stripe. I never noticed that before. I think you made the right choice, he'll be in a loving home. :)

I definitely think you made the right choice!   ^.^  The spots really don't look that noticeable to me, and it looks like he has amazing hair!  Plus the entire Big Brother set is amazingly cool!

It's so hard to get them without at least one spot. I say keep him, at least for now! You might never get a chance to get a better one.

I wasn't impressed with him till my bf got my daughter a cheap flawed one for Christmas. once I'd got him cleaned and brushed I was Wowed! what a handsome guy with long, silky shiny soft hair, his symbols are so nice and I love the mellow gold of his eyes. He's your pony however and white plastic toys will always have more problems then others, so do what you feel is best. yours is a real looker

Agree :)  Your chap looks gorgeous on display, and those spots aren't too glaringly obvious. Enjoy him! He is super handsome. Chief is one of my fav big brothers :)

I had a Chief which also had cancer spots.  I think it's the white ponies in general that are more prone to getting cancer or at least noticeable cancer.  I tried to stop the spread by using a bleach on the spots with a q-tip.  He was eventually customized as a male Majesty for me by a friend but I had a few other custom versions of Majesty and I gave them to Catra at the last RI fair because she also loves Majesty and I didn't have the room for them anymore at the time, but she was happy so I was happy.

I agree - I would totally keep him!

Like Quackers and some others, he is very hard to find without age marks so it means that as long as he is pretty perfect in every other way a couple of marks is nothing to worry about :)

Congrats on him!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Thanks everyone! He is so handsome. I love white ponies and his hair and symbol are so perfect! Majesty mentioned the cancer spreading. Is that a possibility?

He has a nice simple color scheme. His blue hair color was not used a lot so that makes him even more desirable in my eyes. Your guy is good looking! I think age spots give him character. Not one is alike.

Cancer may spread more on just the pony that has it. It is the plastic breaking down. We also recommend that you do not sunfade ponies with cancer, especially Chief, he can burn.
