My cousins had a bunch of those. They'd give me the sports related ones. So I'd had a baseball glove, baseball bat, hockey stick and soccer ball (my two favorites).

I remember those! You can still pick up a few of the charms at my local 5&10 store. If I remember, you could get new charms out of the 25 cent machines.

The prices for them on ebay are outrageous.
These and the cigarette gum was the coolest. Maybe it was candy? It looed lie a cigarette and when you puffed on it - white powder would poof out like smoke. Peope would probably have a fit over something like that today

I had a ton of these things when I was a kid.  They were insanely popular among my friends and I for like a month and a half and we used to trade them amongst ourselves.  All I can really remember of mine are, like, a record and maybe a roller skate, and some kind of animal with a bobble head and googly eyes.  I think I had a tennis racket like the one in the picture too, with the little shoes attached and everything.  I also got this thing that was a tiny pen inside a holder shaped like a koala that I kept on my little plastic charm necklace.  I haven't thought about that thing in years, possibly decades.

Same! As 80's nostalgia gets even more popular, I'm not surprised they are collectible.  I had a mirror charm and I think maybe a dolphin?

isn't weird how images throw us back a few decades omg, decades - plural - i'm getting old!!! i def remember having the bottle, and the chain, which may have been pink, but can't remember much else. i showed my older sis the pic, as she remembers absolutely everything, but she doesn't remember this one!! i'd try my mum, but she normally just laughs when i ask her do you remember...

Those where the best! Yeah people today would probably have a barn yard.  If you blew hard enough, a puff of pink powder would come out.

I was born in the late 80s, but I remember when I was about eight years old being in a thrift shop and getting one of these necklaces. My brother was with me and commented about how all the girls had those when he was in school. He is a child of the 80s.

Ohhhh yes.  I had a few, definitely a yellow whistle I used for emergencies, aka "misbehaving boys at school".  They jumped pretty high in the air when I ferociously tweeted it whenever they groped someone, tried to flip a skirt, bully a special-needs child, tried to steal, or were sneaking around school property without good reason.  Awwwwww poor things always got in trouble with the teachers after I alerted them! 

People freaked out about candy cigarettes back then too, but only recently did they stop selling them.  VICTORY!  I mean, really, do we sell "Pretend & Role-Play Heroin Gear"?  "Your First Freebase"!  Seriously...  modelling the act of smoking not only validates the addictive behavior, it creates a false sense of "coolness" that couldn't be farther from the truth.  And we don't teach children to walk around with brass knuckles... so why we model to our children that it is perfectly normal and acceptable to cause others to have asthma attacks, which endanger lives?!  I'm not allowed to go around punching people in the solar plexus or it's "assault" but a smoker can stand next to me, I can be sucking on my inhaler and turning blue, and they aren't even considered a nuisance.  Well... forget that!  I'm as rude as possible about cigarettes, and I always will be!
