Facebook etc using my browsing history

I read that Facebook  will soon be selling my browsing history to advertisers. I opted out of companies tracking my browsing history using the article, I found over 100 companies! Also my browser works so much faster now.

Thanks for this, I was wondering why my browser had been lagging terribly these last few weeks or so, after I opted out, my browser has resumed its normal speed I'm so not a fan of FB anymore, all of these changes just push me further and further away from using it

Great! I'm glad it worked for you too. I use facebook like I use ebay - begrudgingly.

This is just the tip of the iceburg reguarding stuff they've done in discreet places to try to make it so that as few people see it as possible.

I will NEVER forgive them for what they did to my mom and their shotty security/selling information. 

Do you realize how long it took to get rid of the stupid 'zoot' actively using her and sending her unwanted things without permission?  I have news for you, shes married and not interested!

Wow, that's really creepy. Luckily I've been using FB for years only in private (incognito) windows and I always have AdBlock, Ghostery and BetterPrivacy (it's for blocking those nasty flash cookies) add-ons active. I wish I didn't have to use FB at all, though

Same here. My not real name one is where I follow the official pages of different toy lines I collect as well as a few toy line fan pages that are known for having news first and the Arena. I also have an account with my real name but I only use it to message my friends and keep track of the clubs I'm in at college. I actually prefer tumblr but the more news sources the better and it isn't really good for messaging and unfortunately the clubs I'm in use Facebook to post updates.

I installed AdBlock Plus on my Chromebook and on Firefox on my PC, it has also helped out a lot.

I block all trackers on websites, including Facebook's and Google's (and any stat counter sites, etc). I use the Ghostery app on Chrome if anyone wants to look into it.
