I won the auction but we decided to cancel it. Initially I suggested to pop the head open and leave a note to the custom people in the package and she responded with the email above after consulting with FedEx. So I'm not sure when she'll be selling again...

I've had many shipments from Venezuela and the last one was a month or so ago and had no issue, but I guess things are different now.

I think it was a wise choice pinkroze, spending that sort of $$ and then having possible issues.  The country down there is in total turmoil right now.  Such a Shame.

Venezuela's is in a worse bad shape now, mostly after Chavez died.

The basic supplies of the people is being controlled strickly, and in a similar way to Cuba (or maybe even harsher)

Everything related US is being seen in a nasty way by their rulers, I was actually surprised that people could import from Venezuela in the first place.

yah, just sucks on so many levels but given the likelihood of a ruined OOAK, I would totally say you did the right thing by cancelling

Wow, didn't realise how bad it had got from Venezuela! I bought twice and only had minor damage to one box. Sounds like I got lucky!

So, if I understand correctly, its a problem shipping anywhere outside Venezuela? Or would a country that their government feels more comfortable with be ok to ship to? Just a thought. But there are collectors in several neighboring countries, they could try having a package sent to them? There is a collector in Barbados that I think would accept a box. I'm just not bold enough to spend hundreds of dollars on a test.

I have a address in Hong Kong that would be an option too.

Kasin, the problem has been occurring with ponies shipped anywhere outside of Venezuela. Venezuelan customs are opening the packets that are being shipped out. Some packets are being opened by customs and revenue on the way into the country which the packet is being shipped too.

It would be a risk as there is no pattern ie all packets sent to the US being targeted.
