Title: Steampunk Pullips
Post by: Aeryala on June 06, 2013, 07:55:23 AM
I'm not into Pullips, or japanese bjds at all, but I saw pictures today of a steampunk line of Pullip dolls that were shown at a 2010 toy fair.  And I'm totally in love.

Anybody here have any of those dolls, or know if they're still being sold anywhere?

Check Pullip Style. There is a whole new line of Steampunk coming out. The first four are from the new 2012-13 line and that last one is from the older line.

I believe most of the older line is hard to find. Eos is soldout on Pullip Style. You can find her but she goes for like 200+.

Eos is my grail pullip! Unfortunately, I can't shell out 200+ for her.

Thank you SwordPony!  Sadly, the newer steampunk line isn't quite as exciting as the first ones, to me.  The first ones seemed more detailed and grittier, imo.  I'll just have to save up my money and find the older ones eventually.

I agree, the new set is too overdone, and I'm no fan of the reddish colour theme either. I have Eos and Apollo from the first set and they're both fantastic!
Ra Muw is great too if you like Dal, and she can still be found for a decent price; http://pullipstyle.com/pullipstyle/product_info.php?products_id=716
Gyro's still available as well, if you like him http://pullipstyle.com/pullipstyle/product_info.php?products_id=621

Oh and you might also be interested in the Dollte Porte set; I almost like them more!

I used to have Eos but I hated her. The lying promo/stock photos (hiding her ankle-length hair) really upset me when I got her out of the box and realized how wrong those photos were. Her wings also totally sucked. She's cute and her face is pretty, but we never bonded because of the hair issue so I sold her.

Whaat, you let wig issues get in the way of liking a Pullip? Almost none of mine have their original wigs... And I didn't think the white suited Eos, so she was promtly rewigged in brown. (sorry about the terrible photo, haha)

I liked the way she looked in the promo/stock photos, and that's how I expected her to look. I really liked the white wig. I swore I'd never buy another Pullip with ankle length hair (my other girls were Ala and Mir) so I was pissed about how deceptive Eos's photos were.

I hacked off a good chunk of her hair immediately, which helped some.

Pullip wigs almost never look as good as in promos anyway. In this case, yeah the long hair was very well hidden in promos, but with the quality of Pullip wigs overall, I always expect to rewig even if it's a style I like, unfortunately...

I seriously think this is the very first Dal I have ever seen that I've liked. Very cool!

I love her too!  Dal's always look so grumpy.  But in this case, it works for her.

I have Eos and Dal Ra Muw and I love them both :D. Eos hair was a bit tangly but I used hot water and conditioner on it to make it softer and I'm really happy with it now.

I don't have any good photos of Ra Muw I'm afraid.
