Opaline's in England too! I found her in GAME (of all places!) yesterday.

I love her expression, but in person her proportions are kind of weird and janky... she's also a lot more magenta-toned than I was anticipating, so I'll pass. But it was SO GOOD to see a different character at last!!! Never thought I'd pine after Main 6 but it turns out that's definitely preferable to seeing Sunny over and over any time I go to the pink aisle x)

Forbidden Planet London has the Hasbro Brands figural keyrings (with Cotton Candy, or "Retro Pony" as the bag refers to her as) and the Loungefly blind box pins (I think this is the second set? It's got rainbow ponies and the Megan/Skydancer pin) in stock! The keyring is a bit difficult to feel through the bag for since they wrap them in cardboard >( but you can kind of feel it if you're patient, I got CC on my second try. She's really cute, I wish they'd bothered to add her symbol though.

The only G5s I've really bought so far are styling size ones. I'm really not feeling all of the molded hair ponies, and as far as the smaller brushables go, I've only seen that Walmart set where they have tinsel. I wanted to get the set that has 3 of the core G5 ponies and 3 of the mane 6 in the G5 style, then get the remaining G5 ponies in that size as singles, but just can't find them. I might have to resort to online for them, which is a shame because I like being picky and getting ponies in stores so I can make sure their quality is decent.

G5 is definitely underwhelming for me so far. Between Hasbro continuing to put out so many core cast ponies than others, and the worrying decreased focus on ponies with rooted hair. :/

I agree that G5 is hugely disappointing. Those legs on these new poseable figures... They don't even try anymore. It's like they greenlight every first prototype. The reviews for the little foldable pocket playsets aren't great either.

It doesn't have much shelf space in stores here; usually means it doesn't sell that well.

My guess is that Hasbro will focus more on the new Equestria Girls doll line. They have a gap to fill in their portfolio after losing Disney Princess, and MLP seems to be all about IP licensing for merch instead of HQ toys.

Has anyone else read about Hasbro’s bad Q4 numbers and that they are laying of 15% of their workforce?
I’m hoping they have the insight to realize the sales numbers dropped a lot due to inferior product. Their upcoming strategy is alluded to be to focus more heavily on their big name product and minimize properties that didn’t perform as well.
Makes me really wonder where that leaves MLP now.

I’m hoping they have the insight to realize the sales numbers dropped a lot due to inferior product. Their upcoming strategy is alluded to be to focus more heavily on their big name product and minimize properties that didn’t perform as well.
Makes me really wonder where that leaves MLP now.

From that press release: "...with a portfolio of iconic brands including MAGIC: THE GATHERING, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, Hasbro Gaming, NERF, TRANSFORMERS, PLAY-DOH and PEPPA PIG, as well as premier partner brands."

This usual line-up of successful brands used to have MLP in it. I'd be inclined to say that we might see another revamp of the brand sooner rather than later, but then again that would cost a truck load of money which they may not want to spend atm? One can only hope that they don't go the other route and cheapen the brand even more, to up the profit margin.

Honestly, I'd be super excited to see another toy company fill the gap of quality pony figures. I wouldn't care how much of a blatant copycat it would be. MLP paved the way, but it's become a mere shadow of its origins.
