Wow.

I did read everything, but my response is going to be quite simple:

It seems like a very inexperienced seller was handling this situation.  I wouldn't read any more into their business practices other than they had no idea what they were doing/how the Seller Resolution Center works.

Should I just have them pick up the doll so they can get it and file their insurance claim? (If it isn't too late for that ?)

You are not obligated to send the doll back.  eBay refunded you.  As far as eBay is concerned, the matter is closed.  It's pretty much too late for them - if they intended to file a claim through DHL, they needed to work that out with you before eBay made their decision.

Personally (and I think you agree, too), re-send the funds minus the $47 in shipping through PayPal.  Send it as a payment for goods with all of the original eBay auction info (item #, title, description) as well as a note saying something to the effect of "this is the payment for the doll minus the $47 shipping costs for a new hand per our agreement."

You should have the seller's original email address in your PayPal history.  Send a copy to Mario & the artist as well.

So what should I do now? Is DHL going to show up on Monday for the doll?
I extremely doubt it.  I'm confident enough to say no.

Also- the exchange rate has changed. Would I pay the current exchange rate? The prior?
The current rate.  Paypal will do it automatically.  Pay the original seller.

:iconclap:  I usually hate when ponies have their previous owner's names/initials written on the bottoms of their feet.  Today...well, today I don't mind.

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for donating your ponies to Goodwill.  You took very nice care of them and managed to keep nearly all of their original accessories.  I will take very good care of them.  The ones I don't plan on keeping will be sent to live with other caring collectors.

With much pony love,

Spiffy

P.S.  Steamer and Buttons are now romantically involved.

I like that they changed up the dolls' face molds, but there's something about them...their expressions, oh, I don't know...they're kinda vapid.

I'm curious...how much do you think Princess Misty in good/very good condition with crown clip, comb, and wand is worth?

Oh yeah, the scammers . . . I think it was Lexi who posted an auction for "Mimic" on eBay, then sent the winner a PHOTO of Mimic.  She was incorrigible.  No matter how many times she was caught, you could be sure she would pop up again.

There was another frequent scammer, I think his name was Roy?

This was back when people mostly sent money orders and checks and even cash (especially on international sales), so it was much harder to get money back after being scammed!

Speaking of checks:  if you sent a check to an eBay seller, they would wait two weeks to make sure your check didn't bounce.  eBay shipping in general was much slower than it is today;  you just dealt with it.

eBay sellers were not responsible for items lost in the mail, so you just hoped they wouldn't get lost (or that you had an extraordinarily nice seller).

LOL, remember when someone went to Roy's house?

So I noticed. Definitely awesome! I just wish their shipping was faster; I hear it's very slow, like three weeks sometimes. But thanks for letting me know! I'll probably get Sugarcoat through them. Any idea how long the $9.99 sale will last?

That's wild - I got my stuff in 2 days, I kid you not! Bought stuff on Jun 2nd & arrived the 4th!

Wow, Hasbro's price is pretty amazing. Then you have to factor in shipping, though, unless those have free shipping like the two-pack....

Shipping is free through their eBay store.

24
What are the Motocross on sale for? I need to plan whether to try to get any at the nearest Toys R Us soon....

$9.99 at Hasbro Toy Shop & their eBay store.

[edit] the Toys R Us site has them for $19.99

I just realized that I haven't seen them for sale!

Glad I came back to this thread!  I read it yesterday and couldn't find her!

If anyone else is looking, search for "Rarity" under Hasbro's eBay store.  It has an interesting item description that must be a typo!

Also Hasbro's eBay store has the Flash/Twilight 2-pack for $9.99 & free shipping.  On HasbroToyShop.com it's sold out!

Oh you are right- she is REALLY hard to find!  She actually doesn't even appear under the "Equestria Girls" section- you have to do a general search- so odd!

I figured "RRE" must stand for "Rainbow Rocks Edition."

HA!  Three other people have a pony (or in my case ponies) in/on the refrigerator?  Love it!

Strange thread maybe, but I read the thread about Rapunzel in the Pony Coral. There was said that it is not allowed to go lower than a BIN price on Ebay.

I have no experience with Ebay at all! My husband sometimes buyes something through Ebay, but I've never done that. I was now looking for some pony's and found a few in Germany. I was hoping to get a lower price so I have been PM-ing with the seller for the options. There is one with a BIN price and one with BIN or best offer.

I'm only known with online communities (forums) and Marktplaats (our kind of Ebay, but seemingly very different!). I am used to contact the seller first for extra informations and pictures and if the price is higher than I'm willing to pay try to negotiate.

Am I doing something wrong?

There's no set rule about asking a seller to take a lower price, but usually if they're willing to negotiate they will have a "Best Offer" option along with the "Buy It Now" price.

Best Offer gives a buyer three chances to make an offer lower than the Buy It Now price.  Sellers can automatically set a range on what prices they're willing to accept.  If they do this and you make an offer within that range, your offer is automatically accepted and you purchased the item.  If it is below their range, it will automatically be declined.  Remember, you only have three chances to make an offer.

If a seller does not set a range for their Best Offer, your offer is sent to the seller.  The seller has 48 hours to respond or the offer expires.  The seller can either decline or send you a counter-offer.

Asking a seller to take a lower price on an auction that does not have the Best Offer option or is lower than the auction's selling price can be considered rude.  It really depends on the situation and the seller.

1. If you file a nonpaying bidder case and they never pay, can you still leave them negative feedback?:  No.  Once a case is opened (or closed), no feedback can be left by either party.

2. If a buyer never responds to the case and never pays, do they automatically get an "unpaid item strike" as mentioned above?  Yes.
