Oh, how I hope Bridge Direct can do the Show Stable, The Dream Castle, and the original Pegasus and Unicorn ponies as well!

It would be nice if they made sea ponies, big brothers and another playset for next year, and then after that etc...but my wallet would probably disagree. :D

Then your wallet must pay the price.  :devious:

If there was a 35th anniversary Dream Castle in stores I might yell excitedly just before I grabbed it and ran for the register. :lovey: :lovey:  :bolt:

I like how the new Peachy is different from the G1 Peachy.

Yeah. I'm surprised they didn't go with that. Dream Castle is a bit more iconic.  Does that mean we would have gotten Majesty and Spike? If wishes came true, I'd love for them to bring the unmade Flutter Hideaway into reality. :lovey:

I actually had a dream that they made a 35th Anniversary Dream Castle! I stumbled upon it in Toys R Us. I'll be so happy if this happens. .

I think someone mentioned that the original Pretty Parlor with Peachy was one of the cheaper G1 playsets?  There are armies of Peachys so I guess a lot of people did have the Pretty Parlor and Peachy in their childhood herds. Maybe that’s why Basic Fun decided to start with Peachy and the Pretty Parlor, although I agree that Dream Castle is more iconic. :) I’d also love to see a retro Lullabye Nursery.

I agree that it would be neat to see the castle in stores but I don't think I'd purchase it.  I already have the vintage one and I've already run into the problem of trying to find space for the playsets I have.  I bought the parlor mostly because it was cheap, small and I didn't have it already.

I too had a dream that they remade Dream Castle!!

I hope it happens but I'm a little skeptical that it will because Dream Castle has sooo much plastic and was such a spendy playset to begin with (my family could never afford it), and I'm a bit afraid to see what it would cost today.

But man, imagine an easy-to-get Majesty with NICE HAIR and NO BALDING PATTERN.  Mmmm!

Edit:  I would honestly be content if they released Majesty and Spike on their own in a fancy box made to look like a castle or something.   In my years of collecting I've come across so many Majestys, but never really nice one.   Which is frustrating.

I think the price point for the dream castle would have to be right at $49.99.  Anymore costly and it would turn potential buyers away.

Dream castle..... :drunk:

I agree . . . I wonder if it's possible.  The original Dream Castle was around $27 or $28 according to the old Sears Wishbooks etc.  Which in today's money would be $67 or so.  Maybe if they left out some accessories . . . ?  But original Majesty was also pretty bad quality (sorry Majesty, but your uneven scraggly hair kills me) . . . Would original DC have cost more if Majesty had the same degree of quality as 80s Peachy or Lemon Drop, I wonder.

I mean, Basic Fun did manage to make the Pretty Parlor for $20, which is essentially cheaper than it was in the 80s (after inflation) so maybe it could happen??

My parents also said Dream Castle was too expensive in the 80's. That's probably why I had so many more ponies than playsets. I agree that a retro Dream Castle  would probably have to cost no higher than $50 today.

I wonder if the Basic Fun might also make a retro Waterfall or any of the other playsets that are based on the Pretty Parlor design?

Now, if they made a Waterfall I don't think I'd be able to resist that!

Me either. Wonder if we could beg them for Cascade? I'd kiss their butts in whatever lipstick color they wanted for that.

I'd love Cascade even more! and the Euro version of the Waterfall!

I'd want the US version of the Waterfall with Sprinkles.  I like the idea of it being up in the clouds more than it being on a hill, and Sprinkles is another pony who got a sub-par release, a lot of them having the same crappy hair as Majesty.

Sprinkles would also make more sense for the nostalgia factor.  She was released not only in the US, but also the UK and at least some European and South American countries.  (Not sure exactly where all she was released, but at least Brazil, France, and Italy.)

She was a frequent character in the UK comic, while Cascade appeared only once.
