this may be good, or it may be bad.   
BAD: Smugmug is a pay to use service.

good??? I have heard good things about the service, but it's not free.

Well, according to this article (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/apr/23/flickr-bought-by-smugmug-yahoo-breakup), SmugMug has stated that they do not intend to change the rates or free accounts.
The acquisition seems to be due to Verizon wanting to prune Yahoo's companies down to the higher profiting ones...and also explains why Polyvore went down without warning!

ah, i couldn't find other sources that said they were keeping flickr free accounts as it says after may 25 the experience will change.
