Title: Recovering Childhood Ponies
Post by: Perikoala on February 01, 2018, 11:55:38 PM
A few months ago I recovered my and sister's collection stored for years in the attic. Many of the ponies were not in very good condition (dirt, yellowing, haircuts, paint stains...) but I was confident that a good wash of soap and water would make a big difference. I miss a few ponies I couldn't find in the box with the others, but hope to find these someday :bawl:

Anyway, I did a photo shoot because I'm very happy with the result and I want to show you my little pride that gave me so much joy in my childhood! I'd have liked to take some before and after pictures but I didn't think about it, oh well!

That's so rad! My childhood herd is long gone at a garage sale, but I'm still piecing together which ponies I had...how cool that you've got them all recovered from the attic! Nice work!

These are my favourite brag posts - childhood ponies :lovey:

You and your sister had quite a collection when you were little.  I'm glad to see them all cleaned up. That is a very nice version you have of Sugerberry :lovey:

Wow!  Did Honeysuckle turn orange or is she a variant?  Either way, she’s pretty!

Actually were my parents who chose the ponies! The picked the ones they thought I would like and I never complained! I don't remember asking for an especific pony in my christmas/birthday wishlist but for the kitchen playset (and I was so dissapointed the pony appeared in the box - Cherry Sweet - wasn't included as I was expecting! :hmm: ) so it was always a surprise for me  ^.^

Both these flutter ponies are the Spanish variant, but I guess my Honeysuckle has yellowed over time and turned this orange-ish color ^^;

It always makes me happy when collectors find their precious childhood ponies and have a whole new appreciation for them!  They're lovely.  I'm so glad they're safe with you and will continue to be loved even through you're all grown up now :)
