Title: G3 to G1 Sunny Daze
Post by: Raindrop on December 26, 2018, 02:36:18 PM
I have not done much customizing lately, but I love Hasbro-style customs and wanted to make this special pony for my holiday swap partner.

G1 Sunny Daze is made from a Crumpet-pose fakie (so no collectible ponies were harmed in the making of this custom).  I didn't have the correct yellow for an exact match, but stayed as close as possible to the G3 color scheme.

This is so beautifully made.  :lovey: It really makes me want to see more of the very first G3 characters recreated as G1.

Nice! This really highlights how the generations share a certain look. Hasbro style customs are some of my favorites too, and Sunny Dazes makes a great G1! You definitely captured the Hasbro look, and someone who didn't know better could think she's an original Hasbro.

I haven't been on much since Christmas, but thank you all for the comments.  Regarding the symbols, I draw or trace symbols and transfer to the pony body with tissue paper and a pencil, and then paint multiple layers with a 20/0 brush.  I have freehanded some of my customs, but it's much easier to mock up a design on paper and transfer it.  It takes practice getting the paint thinned to where it goes on smooth but doesn't run, and keeping the lines clean, but everyone gets better with patience and practice!
