Title: Merry treat Petite
Post by: KookyRaccoon on December 27, 2016, 04:48:29 AM
Merry Christmas! In the spirit of the season, I've made Merry Treat into a petite pony pendant. No petites were harmed in the making; she's resin, and is a half-pony (so she sits nice and flat on the neck.) I love petites and couldn't fathom the idea of chopping one in half :scared: but this is something I've always wanted to do. Finally I have!
Took three days to make and the tiniest paintbrush ever but I feel like she was worth it! ;) What do you think?

(Also I posted her here as she's technically not a custom, being that I didn't paint over an original petite; but hopefully I haven't posted on the wrong board :lookround:)

Oooooh my goodness she is PRECIOUS! I want one! You did a fabulous job! It never crossed my mind that petites could be made from resin... Just... WOW!

I can't believe the detail you did with the paint job!

She is absolutely fantastic and the detail you've added on such a small piece is amazing!  I also hope you are able to make more in the future.  Using a resin "half-pony" was a great idea :D

Oh she is gorgeous! You did a fantastic job painting such a tiny pony. I love the darker accents in her mane and tail. Would love to wear something like this on Christmas!

She's beautiful! You could sell these and make a mint! They're amazing, the detail is awesome for such a teensy base!

Thank-you all so much <3

They are the same size as actual petites; I've been working on another one, when I post I'll include a pic of her with a regular size pony so you can see. :)

Thanks, I actually did wear her for Christmas day :xmas: it was nice to flaunt a little pony-love during the holidays lol! :D

I do intend to make more; I've always wanted tiny-versions of regular ponies. There's a fair bit of work involved but I love the final result. And making them wearable appeals to me. I'd like to make them to sell at some stage when I figure out the logistics. It would also help with costs of materials; they can be quite pricey!

The details are incredible!

I was pretty finicky about getting her details as accurate as possible. (Yellow ribbons as apparently that's the colour ribbon Merry Treat came with, green eyes, etc.) I try to get the symbols as similar as possible to the originals (within reason; we're talking about like 5mm of space and some ponies have crazy complex symbols! I cannot drink coffee before I start painting that's for sure!

Lol - I was a little skeptical opening up this thread as I (personally) haven't been too impressed by many petite customs or resins that I've seen in the past, but this little beauty made my jaw drop in the most delightful surprise!

She's terrific! What a great job!

That is super sweet. Would you make one for me? I love the holidays,  and she is my favorite.
