Ugly Black marks on ma ponies :(
« on: July 09, 2012, 04:08:26 AM »
Hello folks,
I wonder if any of you can help me? After storing my ponies in a crowded luggage bag for too long, i took them out one day to discover these stains on some of their bodies! I was so upset :( I tried several things to get them off, and bought magic erasers too but that didn't even touch them. I think they are actual stains in the vinyl from the ink colouring in the luggage fabric. Do you think sun-fading will work on the offending areas? How do i go about the sunfading technique? Anyone else got any suggestions? please help!

Most of them look like staining to me. Gingerbread could have some staining and mold on the inside if her washer is bad. She also has "cancer" spots caused most likely by bacteria. You could try sunfading. Wrap the manes and tails in aluminum foil and cover the eyes and symbols with painter's tape if you can except for the symbol thats stained over. Place in the sun and check daily in case problems worsen or the exposed symbol starts to fade.

Aw, that's too bad :( I think sunfading might help though. I would try what HavACrumpet452 suggested :)

Yeah, ponies will stain if you leave them in something colorful long enough. Like HavAcrumpet452 said, try some sunfading.

I must warn you however that if Gingerbread is alreading showing signs of cancer or brown discoloration that like any white pony she may sunburn! Take care in only sunfading areas that need it, wrap her like a baked potato!!

Check out some of the tutorials in the Arena for the best way to see if you can shift the marks

I just want to second this so it has more chance of being spotted, Gingerbread has been known to actually get worst when sunfading! There are members who have sunfaded her successfully, but do be very careful and look up the stories before you try her.
