The Dollhouse / Re: can any one tell me about these vintage dolls? madame alexandar« on: August 18, 2014, 02:46:43 AM »
hi everyone! wow i knew MLP dollhouse would not let me down LOL!
I will have to see the dolls in person when i can, but yes they do look like the nancy anne dolls to me. at least the boxes look right etc and 1940s era sound about right as they were originally my grand aunts and my grandmother (who is 92 now )inherited them when she passed away my grand aunt was the younger sister. I will ask to see if someone can take better pics of them so i can better iD them. I couldn't really find any exact matches on the websites , but maybe there were more made than listed there. I was curious about them as i may inherit them, unless we have a super rare one or they are worth tons of $$ they may be sold, cuz my grand needs the $$ right now. I won't go into details here but we have had a crazy horrible year, my poor grandmother has lost her husband , her daughter ( my mom) and her house this year all within a 6mo time and now has to liquidate her estate. for $$ Any way, i being a toy collector was tasked with finding out more about these beautiful dolls. so thanks so much MLP arena members for pointing me in the right direction. My mom had thought they were madame alexandar , and grandma just said world dolls?? but when i was looking at those they didn't quite fit. 5

i have maleficent , ursula and evil queen!!! I splurged on these gals when they came out and got evil queen and maleficent , then my friend bought me ursula when she was on sale !!
I LOVE these gals!! they are very beautiful and well put together. I happen to like that they look a bit different then there disney villian counter parts.. I think disney often makes there villans less pretty and a little goofy. Maleficent is my FAVOURITE ( doll and disney movie villian) I would have gotten the whole set , as i think how they have been re-imagined is very classy and beautiful! I still really want cruella but probably won't get her. I am suprised that there was less interest in these as i think they are really unique! My only complaint is i wish ursula had tenticles! I am not one who cares that she went to a diet LOL 9

this! i think it could help and not damage any thing!
There's plenty of UV protect/colour protect hair products out there. I'm sure some would help. *shrug* 11

wow thanks every one some good tips here
I will try the light wash first and if she needs more cleaning after she dries then i will wash her in a pillow case. I am assuming I should just wash her in a white pilow case? i think i have read about some people washing things in colored ones and possible bleeding! can the hair be treated like the regular mlps? soap and some conditioner? 13
