Hi all, I’m new to the forum. I was watching old G1 pony ads and came across this jaw dropping GIANT pony carousel (not sure how to attach images, so I’ll just link the YouTube video below) I’m positively mystified and desperate to find more info about this thing. Have any of you guys read about this anywhere? I would literally do anything to see this thing in person…. WOW WOW WOW. :shocked:

I always knew Jewel's collection was awesome. I had no idea it was that spectacular!

As the others above have said, MustBeJewel owns the purple one. Long-time member Woosie has the pink one, and the yellow was purchased by a collector who isn't active in the online community. They were found in a warehouse in Florida in 2006 and auctioned on eBay. Each one ended around $500 (would be a steal today) and cost $200-300 to ship. Here's an old, old thread about them.

Wow these are so nice! And I'm so glad that all of them found a loving homes. I always get happy when a collector gets one and then shares it with the others.

Couldn't agree more! I hope we can find out where the yellow one is.
Also, I just remembered an unofficial fully functional G4 carousel I saw on "some other site" awhile back. I believe it was somewhere in China, but I could be misremembering. It had fanart on it, including an Applejack X Rainbow Dash ship pic.

This is really cool! I clicked the MLPTP thread and it references a few photos of the big ponies that aren’t hosted at the embedded links anymore. Does anyone have copies of them they could share here?

Oh, I came across one of those on Taobao! There also used to be a video of it on Youtube but it appears to have been taken down.

I'm so happy that the ponies ended up in the hands of collectors that will treasure them and they weren't thrown away or destroyed. :)
The G1 carousel was featured in a few commercials in the 90's. It's also in the Drink and Wet ad

Holy cow, I saw this ad for the first time earlier this week on Tumblr. Those ponies are just absolutely gorgeous. So happy they went to good collectors who actually treasure them and they weren't just left to rot. :hearts:
