Help me with shipping to Norway?
« on: May 14, 2013, 07:30:29 PM »
Hi all! I have a friend in Fredrikstad, Norway, who I bought a couple of G4s for. She also got me a German BK pony, so I want to hurry and mail her ponies to her.

I'm a total noob at shipping though. I've mailed a couple of things to friends in the states (probably not for the best price) and sent a fashion style to Canada once. I'd really like to know a good inexpensive way to mail a package to Norway though. It's really just two playful pony sized G4s, maybe a tiny handmade plush. What's cheap? The USPS site is saying $24 or much higher. (My friend says shipping from her to me is only about $12.)

Also, if anyone wants to tell me the preferred low-cost shipping method for within the US, I'd appreciate it. I want to start selling soon.

Well, via First Class a large envelope (with more than 1/4" variation in thickness) or a box weighing about 6 oz would be $12.75. Priority would be about $24, to most places for a couple ponies. :)

You could try the video/VHS size box that the post office offers

Just mailed two brushables to Norway yesterday and shipping was close to $12 for first class. Just keep your receipt so you can show proof of shipping incase something was to happen.

Oooh, really? I'll have to try first class then. (Of course the usps site won't let me see first class options to Norway, only expensive ones.  )

You can view it on the USPS site when you Calculate a Price. It's the last section though, after all the expensive stuff.  :)

Just remember that first class has no insurance or tracking; so should the pony get lost, the buyer is within their full rights to receive a full refund and you will be out the money and pony.  Protect yourself, the buyer, and that pony- make sure it gets there!
