Random Question

I'm curious as to how one would know if their account's been banned :o
Do you get a PM stating so, or do you just randomly attempt to log on and you get a pop up box that says "banned!" or something of the likes of that?

Sorry if I sound nosey what sparked the question is that today I get a random PM from the My Little Pony Arena stating my account has been denied, of course I was scared and was wondering what the heck did I do wrong, but luckily it was from the archived arena and not here

The banned member would receive an email stating they were banned along with a reason. Also they would get a notice when they tried to log into the site.
