I have barely made a dent in the list of tasks I need to finish.  i wrote this thing during vacation (YES! LOL)  and I don't think I can cross a single thing off.

I have relief but still a headache. And because I've been anxious all last night and today, I am exhausted.

My stomach/abdomen isn't hurting right now but I'm hungry. I had a few saltines a couple hours ago. I wonder if I can eat some egg noodles without issue.

Hope you feel better, BC.

I found a major typo in a story I'm reading on Archive on Our Own. I try to post positive comments and overlook typos, but the story I'm reading has the wrong character listed as speaking.  It's obvious it's supposed to be another character because the character speaking calls himself by his first name.  I want to point out the mistake nicely since it interrupts the flow of the story, but I'm not sure how the author will take it.

I wanted to get tickets for a traveling Broadway tour show, but now that one of the cars has to be repaired, there's not money for them.  I also didn't get to see the Nutcracker in December because an unexpected expense came up then too. :(

Ponyfan, I would just tell the author - most decent writers will not bite your head off about minor things like that. And we've all done it - I remember confusing a couple of character names and details in a story I wrote ages ago and was super grateful someone had pointed it out to me :)

My trivial complaint isn't that trivial and I'm not sure I want to get into it in any detail yet - just a stressful time at work.

Someone has used my email address to sign up for a bunch of dating sites.  So I've had to go to each one and put in a request for them to cancel the accounts.  One wouldn't let me use the "contact us" page without uploading a picture so I reported them to the Better Business Bureau as a scam site.  I have no problems reporting the other sites if I keep getting emails from them, too.

I have an infected eyelash on top of everything else I'm dealing with. It's crusty, itchy and hurts. I put some peroxide on a cotton ball and held it there for a bit and then attempted to put Neosporin on it with a cotton swap.

does anyone else get sad about the number of scams and grifts that are always happening? between the junk calls, criminal fraud, and the "legit" companies pushing junk it makes me sad. now with so many regulations being gutted in the US i think it will get much worse. i also really hate how the responsibility to not get scammed is always falling on the person being scammed and not on the scammers. especially with the technically legal scams.

Not about junk and scams no, it just annoys me. I do get sad about boycotts though. Like, I don't buy from a lot of companies for various reasons but I can't really help buying from Walmart or Amazon. Now I'm even using the Amazon pharmacy for my medication. I would love to shop local, but seen as I can't get around, my choices are limited.

Honestly, with Walmart.com and Amazon I don't know what I would do, and even if the reasons behind them being so cheap is bad, I do appreciate I can get things I can afford. Does it make me a bad person for supporting them? Or am I a victim of circumstance? A little of both?

yeah i really dislike the pressure that people exert to tell people not to shop places like Amazon and Walmart. honestly so many corporations are also horrible. plus Amazon makes a ton of money off their AWS platforms. including huge government contracts.  No one is changing their ways off us not spending money there. especially since it's what's convenient and accessible if you can't drive. Same with Walmart. Target's corporate practices aren't great either. even the ones that people think are liberal and good for society stink. IE Trader Joes and their union busting. even for local businesses. just because their small and local doesn't mean they share your values.

the problems in the US are systemic and aren't going to be solved by small scale boycotts against companies like Amazon that get government contracts. not everyone has a ton of easy options so all of that guilt is no good. it reminds me of all the guilt around recycling. i definitely am worried about climate change and pollution but recycling, especially plastics recycling is kind of a scam. it makes us feel ok about plastics so we let companies avoid additional regulations that force them to change their polluting ways.

yeah i don't like the shaming of individuals that goes on in our society. it's gross to shame people for buying what they can afford. i would rather be angry at the billionaires who are actively destroying this country. if people feel better about not supporting them that's fine but don't comment on what other people are doing. individual solutions aren't going to solve systemic problems.
