YES thank you everyone for your comments! I am glad to recruit more people into the Donkey Pose Lover's Society. I kind of began a donkey pose army just incidentally a few years ago and now I find myself really loving the pose. I must have them ALL.

Why is it called a "donkey" pose?
I assume because it looks a bit like a donkey braying. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I unironically LOVE the donkey pose. It's so dorky and cute. Might be partially attributed to the fact that g3 Minty was one of my first ponies. So I made donkey pose advocacy art.

Oh wait, I remembered one. I was at a local convention a number of years ago and noticed a G1 Sunlight standing on a shelf in someone's booth. I was too shy to ask about it to I got my friend to ask for me. The guy at the booth let me have her for free! Not a super rare pony but I was surprised he just handed her to me!

Since they included Nirvanas they really should have put Greek Ladybird at number 1.

While thrifting yesterday, I found this Criss Angel-inspired "Mindfreak" custom g3 pony. I had to grab her because it's exactly like something I would have made back when I was 12, I was obsessed. In fact, I'm surprised I didn't make a custom like this myself back then! She was quite dirty, probably in storage for a while, so I cleaned her up as best I could and was very careful around the paint. There's some dark discolouration around her legs, probably from black paint smudging. I too used black paint on a white pony once upon a time, and I know what an ordeal it is to try and clean off a mistake. As you can see there's still a "shadow" of her original symbol on her DS, and we can see that she was originally a Strawberry Swirl. Have you ever found a custom pony in the wild? visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

the cashier at a thrift store let me have Oakly for free
Bro I would cry. I think probably my best finds have been blue hearts Dazzle Glow x2 and Bright Glow at thrift stores. I had no idea they were priced so highly until recently. I've also been lucky enough to find a few so-softs in really good condition at thrift stores. I guess this counts too: I got Ice Crystal off ebay for $100 over 10 years ago, and from what I've seen his price has about tripled since then. So, I suppose I was lucky to have gotten him when I did.

I collect G1s and G3s! I love G1s for nostalgia reasons, and for the fact that they're friend-shaped. Their chubby bodies, soft hair and kind eyes are so appealing to me. My first MLPs were G1s passed down to me by my aunts, who grew up in the 80s. I love all of their unique gimmicks, but So-Softs and Twinkle Eyes are probably my favourites. G3s hit stores when I was about 8 so it was perfect timing. I already loved my G1 collection and got super into collecting G3s as well. I love G3s return to form, back to the soft chubby body shape of G1s but a little smaller. G3s bold designs and colour schemes are what I really love about them, plus the hoof hearts and little designs in the eyes provide some extra charm. It's a shame they didn't make many unicorns.

I don't ever remember seeing the Birthflower G3s on shelves around here. I didn't even know they existed until a few years ago, after G3 stopped being in production.

Thank you friends! Yes I absolutely encourage everyone to make a pony friend OC. Non-pony ponies are canonical to the pony universe. GO CRAZY!

So I recently designed this gal as my new Ponysona, Oakleaf Creek. When drawing her I tried to give her a long droopy snoot like a moose, and sort of "floppy" side-set ears. Among her design inspirations are G3 Autumn Skye, and G1 Oakly the Moose (whom I will sell my soul for as you can see in my signature). Last night, I had an absolutely genius thought: make Oakleaf Creek a moose. And so it was. She's still a pony when the situation calls for it, like for adoptable templates or when I feel like drawing her that way. But her true form is MOOSE. And yes, she has antlers because she is a maximum butch gal. So, she's technically a pony friend. A moose pony. Moony. Do you have any non-pony/pony friend OCs? I don't think I've seen many, if any at all! We should start a trend. More non-pony ponies!
