Pony Corral / Re: Question about original babies - Play & Care

I have a similar memory of getting BBE Baby Gusty on a card sometime in the early 90s with very few accessories here in the US. It's possible they were factory overstock that just got thrown on a card with random accessories. I'm pretty sure they did that in the UK so maybe that's what you got? Some UK pony people could give you better info on that then I ever could!

Neat! I haven't seen one of those in a store in forever! I had one at one of my birthdays. I think she's still in my basement somewhere

For me, my favorite part is the endlessness of collecting. I'm a hardcore completionist so even when I have all the ponies, there are still foreign variants, accessories, merchandise etc. Multiply that by 5 generations in counting and I'll never be done! I find it comforting that I'll never have to reach the point where I have to say, "ok. I'm done, I got everything. Now what?" Plus it appeals to my inner hoarder :D

Some g3s are worth a bit of money, but the majority aren't worth much unfortunately and sell for about $5 or less loose. They're still pretty plentiful second hand so demand for them isn't super high. As a primarily g1 collector I do like them, but not enough to seek them out here on the arena. But that's just me! That being said if you found a rare or sought after g3 you could probably get someone to trade you a g1 for it! Here's a great list of g3s not to pass up:

(I would also add the unicorns to this list as there was only one set of them)

Another '91 baby here! September to be precise :) The year 10 ponies are so awesome, I just love all their bright, summery colors!

It's happened to me too! I thought I had lost my Dream Castle carrying case full of my childhood ponies when we moved but about 5 years later I found in in our basement wrapped in a garbage bag. I found I ton of ponies I was just beginning to consider rebuying like Barnacle, Parasol, and Cheeries Jubilee so it was great timing!

Nice! I need to try this, I've got sooo many pindotty ponies in need of a makeover. Where can you buy it?

Very cool and a great idea! I just made something very similar for myself. All those accessories are so hard to keep track of, especially if you're super OCD about it like I am!

This new update is super glitchy! It's such a bummer! Are people still able to add friends with the friends list glitches? I need friends to make any progress (my Id is jma10131)

I had her at my 17th birthday party which was about...4 years ago so 2008 I think. I found her at the dollar store at our mall but she was unfortunately not a dollar!

Poor baby cuddles! It's the worst when you accidently damage a pony that's so important to you. Everyone's suggestions are really great though! She'll be looking great again in no time! If for whatever reason you do decide to paint over the spots again be sure to seal it with something like mod podge. That will keep it from peeling of in the future.

If its a set completer I'm compelled to buy them in as close to mint condition as possible. Even if the rest of the set is baity the one that finishes it off has to be perfect! Weirdly any other pony I'll buy in pretty much any condition

Great stories everyone! Pony sense is truly amazing!

The most vivid memory I have of pony sense is from when I was little, probably 9. I was at a flea market with my dad and we were walking by a booth with a box of grungy boy toys. I hadn't had any luck that day but I just knew there was a pony there so I grabbed a chunk of green and pulled out a SS Magic Star! My dad asked me if I wanted to keep looking and I said no haha! I guess my pony sense knew I found the only one in the box!

Pony Corral / Re: Where To Shop For Ponies in Italy This Summer?!

That's so exciting! I did a little pony hunting in Italy once when I was on a school trip. I found a couple g3s at rest stops and some of the smaller more out of the way souvenirs shops. You might find some g4s at those types of places too. I've also heard there is a large flea market in Rome on the weekends where you could possibly find some vintage ponies but I wasn't able to get to it. Good luck! Maybe you'll find a rare Italian pony!
