Hi ponies,
Have you ever found a Nirvana pony in the wild whilst out thrifting/flea market/car boot sale/charity shop?
I have not had any Nirvana luck yet :P I still live in hope though. I would love to hear about any wild Nirvana's you have found.

If I leave the Italians out I can say yes I did find some nirvanas through out the years.
The first that comes in mind is Macau Lemon Drop. Spanish Bow Tie. French Starshine and Moonstone. Not sure if plush Honeycomb can be counted too? And that Parasol plush which still needs officialy confirmed Brazilian.
-
I did, yes.
Aside from the plethora of Italians in my country, I found a French Cotton Candy in a flea market, among a few other ponies and the Show Stable + a G3 house playset. That was quite the unforgettable day. ^^
Some releases are way more rare in Europe than they are in the US. For myself, I would consider a So-Soft to be similarly considered as a Nirvana. Also, I found a Flat-Foot Minty in a thrift store, that was amazing to me.
-
I picked up a huge lot of ponies and it had 3 greek ponies in it!
-
I found Italian Polly (White with pink hearts) at an antique fair near where I live in the US for $2! Still my most amazing find in the wild. I could never sell her, it was love at first sight! I still wonder what her life before me was like, to end up here where I am.

Wow, what awesome ponies you have all found in the wild! It is pretty amazing how far some nirvana's travel too.
How did you manage to contain your excitement is what I'd like to know :P

Well I had to be calm with another nirvana find that came into mind :)
I have found a piggy Fresita and minutes later the alternate G2 Seabreeze on a Spanish fleamarket. It was really like wtf and omg :)
-
Nothing yet. I have a hard time finding regular ponies in the wild :P

I found several Italians with stamped eyes, they were the regular release here in Germany ;)
But I also found some Maucau ponies, I remember finding Snuzzledrop on one of the first flea markets I ever searched for ponies. And a rare Italian grey Lemon Drop with airbrushed eyes once.
I also found Nightglider and Kingsley the lion, as they were not released here that was as unusual and amazing as can be! :)
-
I think that Nightglider must be from here. :) Througout the years I have found her several times.
-
Well, I've found a few No Country ponies, does that count?
I'm more wowed by the fact I found two Twilights (unicorn) when they weren't even sold here. I wonder what their story is :wonder:
-
My best one was a lot of 3 Greeks on a fleamarket in my hometown :) CP Cotton Candy, Blue Belle and Minty!

I found Brazilian Heart Throb at a thrift store in the U.S.

People have found them for me. A roommate found a piggy Snuzzle for me back in the day for 50 cents in Miami, and recently a friend found me a NC Mommy Apple Delight in Seattle.
-
I'm so, so interested in finding out how exactly ponies like this would make it abroad. For me specifically, into the US. I sort of understand that in some places in Europe, it's possible to drive to other countries with little to no fuss. But for a pony from South America for example to make it to the US, is endlessly fascinating to me. How many hands has she been exchanged from? How'd she end up staying in the country? Was she lost, or did some parent decide to give her to a thrift/antique etc place but just happened to be on vacation? So many possibilities...
Also I'm pretty sure it was LadyMoondancer who found a piggy pony in California in a Saver's/Value Village.

Thanks, Pink. ^^ To answer your question : I do not. I'm the kind of silly person to jump in place, walk in small circles and gently clapping my hands when I'm excited to find great ponies. I did it a few times in flea markets, lol. I know I look weird, but I don't mind. I like to think my very expressive joy will make someone's day. ^^
-
It would be amazing if those ponies could tell their stories of how they got to be in the places they were found
RoseNoire  I honestly don't know what I'd do if i found something extra rare and special. I grin when I find any pony!

I relate, I still wonder how my Glory and Moondancer got here.
I've found a lot of ponies here that were not UK regulation release (even mimic!)
If Himmelstanzer counts, I picked up her at the local carboot sale.
In terms of proper Nirvana - Italian Surprise, Peachy (!?XD) and Heart Throb, Macau Candy and Nelly...
I also got a greek Peachy in a random UK ebay lot which was not marked, so someone obviously found her somewhere else in the UK.
edit: OH, and the two piggy ponies! I don't own them so I forgot about them. Dorset steam fair with Reaperfox back in around 1998-9ish, we saw two piggies there. We left them, thinking them (pretty ugly) fakies. Her Dad also saw them and bought them for her as a joke, also thinking them fakies. Then a LOT later it was discovered they were piggies. She still has them.

Ooh lucky her!

Nope...not once
-
I once found a piggy pony at a fleamarket. The seller told me all his other ponies had just been bought by someone else, who left only the piggy behind. They probably thought it was a fakie :snicker:

<--Macau Peachy, Italy Peachy, Greek Peachy. All random UK acquisitions >.>
-
I found piggy pony Minty at a Value Village in Seattle, and G2 Golden Glow at a Goodwill in Seattle. Ponies love to travel!
-
I would love to one day, no a drop of luck so far.
-
I found a Greek baby glory at a flea market here in MI!
I also have a French star shine that I bought new on a family vacation in France when I was a child. She traveled back to the US with me!
-
I suppose the only "nirvana" I've found in the wild was a UK pretty beat with the purple hair in a facebook marketplace lot that was 3 hours north of me and I asked if she'd ship and she did! :) lot also had red roses in it so it certainly sweetened the deal
-
I live in hope! I dream of finding an alt bf...
-
We can live in hope Tiggums :bigups:

I found a lot of italian ponies in the wild but nothing really special.
Also a French Windy and that's about it I believe
-
Sadly no...I barely find any ponies at all let alone g1 ponies...
-
Only Italians and NC. Italy Glory was one of my very first pony finds (this was in 2005), she's still part of my collection in spite of her less-than-good condition. The other finds have been common ponies too, like Blossom, Peachy, NC Sundance etc...
I know of others in Finland who have found piggies, Greek ponies and other rarities at the flea market :faint:
-
Yes!!I found in a huge lot Greek baby cuddles-green variant!!
-
Yes, I'm canadian and i've found an italian butterscotch! :lovey:
-
Back in the late 90's there was a kids' consignment shop I used to visit often. The lady who ran it kept all the ponies in a bin behind the counter. One time I found a German Baby Lemondrop in her bin of ponies! Back then any non-US baby ponies were a really big deal... so you can imagine my excitement! Even all these years later, I consider that one of my luckiest pony finds.
-
I have yet to ever even see a nirvana pony in the wild.
-
I've found a greek Blue Belle with light blue hair. She is propably the prettiest pony in my collection. I've also found some Italians (Glory, Applejack, Bowtie x2, Blossom x2).
-
yes! I have found Argentina Blue Belle, Gusty and Glory. Peruvian Confetti, Baby Blossom, Baby Bowtie, Posey, and Lickety Split. Italian Peachy, and Trickles.. I think thats it so far! :)
-
Ha! No. I barely see G1s, aside from the occasional ratty Collector Pony, Basic Funs and Funkos.
-
I found an India Funschool Butterscotch here in Canada as well as a French Firefly :)
-
I wish I could've I can't even find ponies at a thrift store. Unless it's the one I always go to.
-
Many years ago I found Ice Crystal big brother pony at a carboot sale/flea market... at the time I actually didn't know he was rare, so I bought him because at the time I was buying any G1 MLP I could find in the wild. XD So it was quite a surprise when I got home and found out!
-
Mainly Italians, especially Peachy. if I ever find a pony in a thrift shop, it's another Italian Peachy. I have an army of them
And I found a French Windy once. I think that's about it
-
Fun to read this post after a while! I once found French Seashell at a flea market and I made a kind-of-mystery purchase once, a huge box full of Barbie stuff, but I had spotted some ponies in it. When it arrived it had Greek Cotton Candy in it :)
-
Yeah! A couple of mexicans :D
-
Yep, I've found several italian, spain & french ponies and a piggy in the wild
-
I don't know if this counts as "in the wild", but I bought a lot of ponies on Goodwill's auction site and when it arrived I noticed that Peachy's foot was stamped Macau. So like my Brazilian Heart Throb, I wonder how did this pony never sold in the U.S. end up here and donated to a thrift store/goodwill.
-
found italy butterscotch at a thrift store in my city
-
Finding a G1 pony in the wild here is like finding a unicorn. Wait...
-
Yes, I found a Greek Minty and Peruvian Starshine at a flea market. They are my most precious ponies. :lovey:
A few Italians I have also found (Lemon Drop, Bow Tie, Blossom…).
-
Minor nirvanas like G2 Royal Twin Fire and Italy Snuzzle with purple hearts both at the same flea market...I should clarify that I am in the US.
