My Little Pony storybooks! -- your favorite?

So, having already amassed a small collection of pony jigsaws, I've also had a passing interest in MLP storybooks, and it's picking up lately. I'd like to start working on a proper collection of G1 books. At the moment, I just have My Little Pony at the County Fair and My Little Pony Makes a Wish... and I just picked up Baby Firefly's Adventure on eBay.

Is there a definitive list of the books that came out? Also, if you have a favorite MLP storybook, which is it and why? The story? The characters featured? The artwork?

I'm also interested in the Annuals. When did they start being published?

My favourite one is a UK (?) exclusive called The Magic Nut Tree which features lots of cool ponies such as Gypsy and Majesty I've not got it to hand, but it's the story of a princess who loses her sweet temper and sunny disposition (or similar) which the ponies have to restore by finding the silver nutmeg and golden pear on the magic nut tree - which is tiny and Applejack finds eventually! It's one of the more fantastical pony stories IMO.

I think the first annual came out in 1985 off the top of my head

My favorite book has to be "The Thanksgiving Gift", a G3 book with absolutely adorable artwork.  It's very fitting considering the season~

My favourite is Man in the Moon I had the book as a little girl and adore it still. I also like Dancing Butterflies and the Bad Tempered Butterfly.

I had My Little Pony and the New Friends growing up. I'm a little biased towards it. I love reading it every now and again because it gives me warm fuzzy nostalgia feelings. The artwork looks like watercolor and is just precious.

The first annual's my favourite. The story about Moonstone & Starshine's adventure is so magical & the illustrations are lovely.
I had The Cross Weather Witch & The Magic Music Box as a kid. I didn't have a clue who any of the characters were, or why the artwork was so different, because I grew up with G2s, but I really enjoyed reading the stories.
My favourite G3 book is Butterfly Hunt, the illustrations are so vivid & gorgeous. ^-^
