Okay, I have been thinking this over for awhile. I worked really hard trying to figure out how to make reproduction flutter wings. The downside to this is, they cost more to make than I actually sell them for. So I stopped making them. However, I don't want this to be a total loss to the MLP community. If I put a tutorial up, should be a thread on the board or a webpage? I know how to code html, but I have no hosting site. Maybe someone will offer to host for me? I also have ethics issues to deal, would people get mad if I gave the secret out? Or do lots of people really want this? If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it. Also, if anyone doesn't know what my flutter wings look like, here is a pic:

I'm sorry I don't know how to advise you but I wanted to say that your flutter wings are amazing and I for one would really appreciate such a tutorial and make wings for all my flutters! 

I guess part of your decision to share depends on how you'd feel about some other people making them to sell (which might not be an issue if they cost so much to make).

Thanks Whippy : ) I doubt people would be able to profit off of them. The material that is used for them can only be bought in one place and it's not cheap. On top of this, they are time consuming to make too. If people can profit off my method somehow, more power to them xD

I'd love to know how just for my own collection---I doubt you'd find too many people willing to spend a ton of money to make them to sell.

You could always make it a pay to get it tutorial. Or a donation tutorial. Something along those lines. I would pay for the knowledge and that way it comes with a disclaimer not to use for profit---I know quite a few free crochet patterns do this.

Even if there is a tutorial, there will still be people that don't want to or can't make their own, so there will still be a market for others that make the reproduction wings.

I would love to know how to make these. Flutters look so sad without their wings and it's made me not want to collect them at all.

If people want to make them for others, they still can. Despite what Barbed suggested, I don't think I'm going to make this a for pay deal. That would mean I would need my own site and hosting, neither of which I have. This is why I asked if someone could put this on their site for me.

I would love a tutorial for my personal collection as well! I've always wanted replacements for my flutters but not a lot of people know how to make them well (or sell them).

I can host the tutorial for you. I do light coding and own webspace with unlimited subdomains. Just PM the name you'd like for your site (It'll probably be put on my thefannish.org url if you accept) and the images and text and I can set it up for you.
