Title: Looking for bronycraft!
Post by: hathorcat on January 03, 2014, 09:28:01 AM
Calling bronycraft :) I hope everything is ok with you but I just need to touch base in regards the Holiday Swaps.

If anyone can get in touch with bronycraft and ask her to pm me in regards the current Holiday Newbie Swap it would be very much appreciated.

OMG - I think she has a similar issue on the UK Ponycon Forum.

It is easier to get in touch with her via Facebook, but she hasnt been very active there since the start of the year too.

If I can be any help, please let me know.

Thank you sparkler

Unfortunately I have had no communication and at this point I really don't want to keep waiting and waiting and waiting for her to perhaps pop back up again. I suspect the box was never sent and, while the last communication from her confirmed she had received her partners box, there has been no brag on that either.

If you are able to send her a message via FB at all to let her know I am looking for her it would be very much appreciated but it sounds from the UK board Christmas Swap that she seems to have vanished on that one as well. At this point we are moving forward with a replacement box. :(

Its always awkward when people disappear in a swap - I hope nothing in real life is preventing her getting on line.

Okidoki, I have sent her a message.

I do feel awkward chasing people up, especially when you dont know if the have some RL issues. But I dont think it is accepteble to just disappear from swaps - as it is very disappointing for the person who does not get a present.

I am really surprised as I have done sales with her before and they went absolutely fine.
She did not brag on the UK Ponycon Forum too (which was a shame as it was me who sent her her box) - but maybe she doesnt know that it is expected? I dont know how many swaps she had been doing so far.

xx

I've just tried to get in contact with her BF on facebook to check she's ok. Both glad to see I'm not the only one... (it's not lost in the post I guess) yet also worried about her. We'll see if that helps surface her! x

So it has been mailed trulyoutrageous or she just has not yet posted it?

No, I think she meant that TrulyOutrageous probably thought it had been lost in the mail, but that it turns out it probably wasn't mailed to begin with. What a shame.

I think babylofty is right. trulyoutrageous thought her box  from Bronycraft had gone MIA in the post but its looking like Bronycraft never sent it - especially since this is not the only missing swapbox from her (so sorry she went MIA on your swap Cat! :(  )
Thank you all  who are trying to contact her via facebook   :bigups:

Thanks so much for trying the FB look out as well :)

I am hoping she will come back but MIA from 2 boards and 2 swaps is not good. I too was told the box was shipped but never got any confirmation. As to not knowing about the brag...the past pm did confirm that she was going to brag and had received her partners box so I am sure she knew that was, perhaps not a prerequisite, but certainly expected.

*sigh* - life goes on and we had such an awesome group of amazing members in this particular swap that I can certainly see a silver lining in their participation and the fantastic boxes they sent.

It's a bummer that she's gone MIA on more than just our swap. I keep hoping that she'll see this and chime in, but it's looking less and less likely.

oh :( that's such a pain. yeah you kinda hope everything is ok in RL, but equally you get really irritated when somebody just vanishes off like that, especially when she got the box from the person sending to her

and if you need any help with putting a box together I'll probably be able to find a little something :)

 How disappointing to hear she is MIA in another swap. I really do hope there is nothing seriously wrong.

Thanks for offering your help SoSoft  that's very sweet of you.

This is quite unfortunate. It's obviously very disappointing whenever something like this happens for a number of reasons. Well, since there doesn't seem to be something that I can assist with that isn't already, I will offer my condolences to those afflicted, and express that my concern is mutual, for what it's worth.

Right... I contacted one of her pals on FB, who seems to think she's in the middle of moving house! (Jess was in her profile pic with her so I chose her!) SO... let's hope it's that and her boxes have got mixed up in her furniture or something! x

As long as you dont get discouraged, Mirnyj - that is the main thing! And I dont think you are - arent you in the Little Swap at the moment?
A couple of us had bad Swap experiences in the past - unfortunately it does happen. And I think it is especially bad when you expect a christmas box (that never turns up). But most of the swap experiences are GREAT!!!!! And so many lovely people out there to recieve boxes from!

(did I mention it, she hasnt bragged on the other forum too - which is sad, because I was the one sending the box to her)

xx

Thanks Salem. :) I'm not disheartened at all. Swapping has been my hobby long enough for me to know that these things do happen. It's a bummer every time for sure, but I'm not having any hard feelings here. :) And most of the time the swaps I receive are so wonderful that they easily make up for the disappointments.  ^.^ My trust is on people's honesty in the end of the day. Hope she'll have the courage to come back at some point. :)

Update... so Jess seems perfectly active on Instagram... she's moved house, sorted her craft room, bought some MLP pyjamas and bought a wig... so she's not dead or going through any kind of trauma... it's official. Not impressed... but if anyone wants to ... I dunno... instagram.com/bronycraft I commented asking if she had 'found' my Christmas box now that she's unpacked... obviously don't expect a response! Just thought you should know... x

*shrug* My opinion is that what people do off site is their own business. However, As tempting as it is to tell someone off when they are still very visibly active after completely flaking out on commitments, it's not a transaction I was involved in so I'm not going to get into someone else's business.

Going against someone as an angry mob is never a good decision... Sure I'm very disappointed, but it's really her problem if her own conscience doesn't bug her enough to come clean with this.

True, I had some stuff to send her and was trying to get her new address, plus check that she had been okay. I honestly do she comes back and sorts everything out *crosses everything*

Yeah, from me it is.

 sweetheart. You did an awesome awesome job on that box and I am so sorry you got messed around. However I believe a mail delivery to Finland should be any day now ;)

Ok...on to the topic in hand.

I am really disappointed in bronycraft - she has messed around not only the wonderful Mirnyj but also trulyoutrageous who has given her every allowance possible and tried her best to track her down, along with the help of some other UK board members. Emails and shout outs like this have not helped at all.

However, before we go any further with the advice. This was an Arena swap; as far as we are concerned we have already declared bronycraft a flaker and such has been registered on her Arena profile. Also as an Arena swap, feedback has already been left for her - a negative. And Mirnyj has already been left positive feedback as she more than fulfilled her part of the swap. There is no need for Mirnyj to worry about anything more, although I completely understand her upset and am furious on her behalf.

This thread was posted as a shout out to see if anyone could help us track bronycraft down and thankfully it worked to allow the 2 boards to identify that she had done the same thing to different people. However, it is not for advice on what to do next - the Arena have handled the Newbie swap and the UK board are more than on top of the problem bronycraft has caused for them.

Awe, I told you you shouldn't have...  ^.^ Well, I've had time to accept what happened so tonight I'm going to play with my new toys (got some Zelfs finally!!), watch Vampire Diaries and not worry about flakers. :P

Just a quick question - has she returned and apologised and offered to send another swap box?
Just because...
she is back active on FB now - and it seems like she has bought a stall for UK PonyCon to sell loads of ponies.
Reading this I contacted her UK swap partner and she has been contacted by her and offered to send a replacement box.

Just curious as I don't really know what to think of it.
I hope she is not just trying to clear the air on the UK side of it.

xx
