Things I Love About Customizing!

I love painting eyes.  It's my FAVORITE part of the whole process.  I also love the initial design phase - I do full sketches of almost every pony.

I discovered my new love while working on my G4 swap pony a while back ... hair dyeing!  OMG!  I live dyeing gradients, rainbows, all that stuff.

The rush of finishing a pony altogether.
Now if only I'd just do it more often and finish what I start.

Totally guilty of this.  The Jem pony I started months ago is sitting in her cubby, painted (mostly), just waiting for a symbol and hair.  A masked pony I started while terribly drunk is sitting in a box.  My husband's Day of the Dead pony is sitting in her cubby, just needing hair.  I finish commissions though!

What I love most is buying supplies!

I'm guilty of nearly hoarding when it comes to this, I have boxes full of glitter, stars, flocking, various powders, wire, clay, hair, ... anything that could get on a pony is there and I just don't have the heart to downsize. Hey it COULD be used after all ^^"

I am the same way - when I was in the supply swap last spring, I went crazy buying all the things I always saw in the craft store and thought "I could use that for something.... eventually" and sent them to my partner.

I like getting new items to use for my custom ponies. I also love to make custom ponies for other people. I have a ton of ideas for customizing. I find rehairing ponies a fun thing to do. I really do enjoy painting alot also.

Nothing more true, I have found with my ah 30+ years in customizing that the artist who put there the love of it first just produce the best work. 

As for me I love the sculpting end of it, I am not into hairing so if I ever do a hairded MLP I shall be looking one of you guys who love it up to do that part. LOL.  I do love painting and love coming up with the idea and then making it happen.

my favorite reason is to turn what could otherwise be thought of as trash into a treasure... although now that I think about it, CSA, I think you turned both that (just ugh) MGR - Diamond Dreams - and baity Bright Eyes into the most amazing 2nd life customs ;-)

but yeah, giving a toy a second life is a lot of fun

This is exactly how I like to see it-- ponies are an amazingly open 3D canvas with so much potential! This is why I like to use all of the pony to paint on
