Pony Corral / Re: Brown spots - what's the best treatment?

Hey, just a quick little follow-up: I managed to get some Salon 40 creme and it works very well! I was even able to get rid of some black spots on a petite pony. Thanks again for the tips, everyone.

All right. I just wanted to make sure there were no other issues like this condition potentially spreading to other ponies. Thank you very much! ^.^

Pony Corral / Brown spots - what's the best treatment?
« on: July 17, 2023, 04:35:01 PM »
So I was looking through my collection, and I noticed some spots on Baby Noddins (which unfortunately, don't show up the best in photos - there's two near her symbol and one behind her eye). They have tiny dark centers with a wide (but much fainter) dark zone around them. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I've read about these sort of spots on ponies online, but I don't know what causes it or the best solution is to these nowadays. I've got a couple other ponies (and one stamp) that have had similar spots since I got them, but I've never tried treating them.

Then there's this purple fakie, who (in addition to always being very sticky/tacky) had no marks when I first got it ten years ago, but is now on its way to becoming a pinto. I washed it with some dish soap, which only got rid of some of the stickiness and didn't do anything to the marks. I don't know if this is the same problem or not.

I found these tiny fakies (each about 2" long) at a swap meet.

Apologies for quoting myself, but does anyone know anything about these fakies? As I mentioned in the original post, I searched around for more info on them, but spacemanfakie's page was the only place I found that mentioned them, and all I learned from there was that they are/were sold as a set of 12 under the name "My Lovely Horse". I've done a few Google searches on that name and various other terms, but I've yet to find these little fellas mentioned anywhere but fakiespaceman's site.

They have no identifying writing or logos on them at all, and the only place where found any info about them was fakiespaceman's page --- and even there, there were no photos of all of the ponies with these particular colors. Apparently they're part of the infamous My Lovely Horse line, but look how much character they have!

Not only do they appear to have their own unique look, but the manes, tails, eyes, and even the hooves are different for each one (look at the fluffy fetlocks on the unicorn!), and the faces plus the long ears give them an impish, donkey-like look. The light blue unicorn with the symbol of the cloud with red drops falling from it looks a tad suspicious, though.
