I'll take pics tomorrow :) I'll edit the title of the thread to indicate that pics have been added. Whatever the cause, they do look interesting together!

I first thought it must be from color changes due to decades of who-knows-what storage conditions, and that's probably all it is! It seemed possible that they were different in each year because the color is so even-- and looks pretty, unlike most of the pony changes out there, such as the typical regrind.

I think it's neat how the orange one is quite close to the color of the ice cream treat Creamsicle!

I have two of Creamsicle, the G1 giraffe pony friend. Creamsicle was released in Year 5 (1986-87) and again in Year 6 (1987-88).

The two I have both have a hoof marked 1987, with all other information the same. They're both from the US.

So, I was looking at them and noticed that they don't have the same body color and hair color. They're only slightly different. One is yellow with white hair, and the other is orange with cream hair. I've had them for ages and feel a little silly for not noticing it sooner!

I checked the usual sources for information about things like this and didn't find anything.

Does anyone know if they're from the two different releases and, if so, which is which? :what:

Your collection is so amazing! Approximately how many puppies and purries do you have?

Whoa, I didn't even know that sitting-position puppies were made! It's the Seashell of Pound Puppies  Does anyone know if they were made in the US, or were they exclusive to some other countries?

Hi :) What do you look for, as far as condition? I have some baby sea ponies and floats, but I'd have to take pictures and it'd be easier to know if the flaws are possibly ok before taking them ;) such as paint rubs on the floats and marks on the ponies, and hair condition. Thanks!

:bolt: When they're adult-sized and engorged, they're easy to see. But, like most creatures, they start out tiny and can still travel home with you. So can the eggs. That's something I didn't really think about until seeing a terrifying TV show about them! Naturally, I suppose, since not many people Want to think about it enough to figure out the yucky details of this horror!!

The adults are more of a risk since the females lay eggs very frequently. But, if multiple tiny ones follow you home, they can end up breeding. I've read that a lot of people have some around the house-- particularly since they can live for up to 2 years or so without feeding-- but not enough that they end up getting together to breed; keeping things clean, especially bedding and furniture, is the best way to avoid any who do make it into your house from starting a whole community. Icky!!

I encourage-- although not before bed  -- anyone who hasn't to do a little research on them and then also tell nearby family and friends to further decrease your risk. Those of us who are actively collecting end up with stuff from all over that we certainly don't want to end up throwing out because of an infestation; I feel like we need to be extra-cautious. Can you imagine if anyone who does a lot of selling or trading had an infestation and a bunch of people ended up with them?? What a nightmare!!!  :freak:

I've read that, on very warm days, the heat that builds up in a vehicle is enough to kill them; I don't think I'd want to leave ponies in there for too long, but I'd do that with most plush toys, for example. Just put them in a sealed plastic bag right after purchase and leave them in there for a while, then proceed with the official methods of prevention.

I'm a little irrationally terrified of the nasty things, obviously. But it is a genuine risk that's worth being reasonably cautious about. An exterminator at a relative's workplace gave a presentation on the risk and prevention of them, and he said that he does not go to movie theaters. Ever. Sooo now I don't want to, either  I mean, if this guy isn't confident that he can check himself over and get rid of them before getting in his car... who can be?

I've become super-disinterested in garage sales and thrift shops. I still go, occasionally, but I lift up fewer things and try not to hold them against my clothing.  I always remind my family and friends to check when they go to motels or hotels-- but most of them don't take it seriously. It's an easy thing to at least check the mattress and rest of the bed.

It's one of those statistical things, in my thinking: it's not terribly likely to happen to you, but the more risk you put yourself at, the more likely you are to eventually end up with a problem. When a home has a  bad enough case of it, exterminators say they really have to get rid of anything that's difficult to clean, such as books and furniture, or the infestation can go on for Years as repeated extermination attempts can make the icky bugs resistant to the toxin and even harder to get rid of!!

What a cool set!! That will be a fun look for the bathroom. I don't have that store nearby, but hopefully your leads here pan out!

Hi :) I know your post indicates that you wish to trade, but it doesn't specifically say you aren't buying, so I wanted to check. I'm selling a MO Sparkle, maybe two, that you need, plus a mostly-complete pony wear baby Snow Angels set. If you are looking to buy (since I'm only selling right now), PM me and I'll take pics of the outfit and send a link to that and the MO(s). Thanks!

Emuel, I know what you mean about that scene... haunting.

Not really spoilers, just musings about the upcoming final two episodes this season:

Spoiler
I'm very curious about what will happen on tomorrow's episode. I'm wondering which ones won't survive the season, because some of them must not make it.  I thought there would be some in the group who I wouldn't terribly mind losing, but I've become attached to all of them, in some way, so it will be hard to see Anyone go. For Carl's sake, I especially hope that Rick and Judith will survive, and Michonne because I think she could become a guardian/big sister type of person for him, and he sure could use an influence like that. Plus, I want to see how the others will react when she insists on displaying that weird cat statue in the middle of the room or something  I love books, movies, and tv series in which the characters don't always survive, because that's the sad reality of life and it allows the story to flow more naturally. It's hard, though, when characters are lost as often as in this show.

Oh, how strange!! I had No recollection of those until I read your post! I still don't remember much-- I was probably very young-- but I remember leaning over one on the floor and coloring it and how the crayon looked different on plastic. I don't remember the picture on it. I'll have to ask my mother if she remembers these.

Does anyone remember which different pictures they had?? Or around what years they were produced? I would probably have had one between 1984 and 1989.

Aww Hootsie is super-cute!! There's an owl in an old tree behind my house; I've never seen him/her, but the hoo... hoo... hoo... sound is so cool.

My cats and I have been watching a squirrel family out back; there appears to be a mother with three babies born during the fall. I got to watch them play as a group and learn to master climbing around and jumping from tree to tree; there was a lot of scrambling around and some obvious falls into the bushes  they always seemed ok, so it was kind of funny to see. They'd run back up like, What?! Nothing happened! The cats really enjoyed the process, surely more than the squirrelings (as I like to call them) did.

This post is about the episode "Clear" which first aired on March 3 (in the US). I'd Love some thoughts on a few things!!!

Spoiler
Morgan!!! Finally!! I'd begun to wonder if we'd ever see him again, both in terms of how the show doesn't follow typical TV show rules-- he could never have shown up again, perhaps as a way to remind the audience that a lot of people would never find out what happened to friends, and even family, in that Apocalyptic scenario. And Lenny James is a sought-after actor, so maybe shooting with him again wouldn't have worked out.  That leads me to this question: Will we see Morgan again? Will Rick or anyone else go back to Morgan's death trap (ha...ha...) of a home? Or is this it for Morgan in the series? The writers and actor, himself, might want him to go out on that high note, of sorts-- that monologue was Amazing!!

I think that the reason Rick, Michonne, and Carl didn't stop to pick up the hitchhiker is that they're finding that it's impossible to tell who they can trust. They could even pick up a good person... but who has a zombie bite they're hiding, which could cause them to turn unexpectedly and attack them. I guess they could strip search everyone, but that would usually require hanging around out in the open and putting themselves and their group members at risk. Or, of course, they could pick up a seemingly-good person who turns out to have ulterior motives and might hurt or kill a group member. Even Carl is discovering that keeping himself and his group alive can require killing or harming the living, or just leaving them to their own luck on the side of the road.

When Carl first saw Michonne outside the prison, he immediately asked his dad if they could help her and was pretty much set on doing that. But Carl didn't say a word about the hitchhiker either time they saw him alive.  Especially with Carl in the car, I think Rick did the right thing by not picking up the hitchhiker. He already lost his wife; he doesn't want to risk losing his son to help a stranger. Even Morgan, a man Carl's father had known and spoke highly of, was trying to shoot them (albeit without recognizing Rick) the minute they showed up, and with no provocation at all.

So who Can be trusted? When Carl apologized to Morgan for shooting him and Morgan replied, "Don't ever be sorry," I think that was a good indication of how survivors, in general, have to look at the world if they're going to survive. Don't be sorry for protecting yourself. I hope some psychologists survive because Carl is going to have a ton of issues!! I imagine that the group will have to find a way of choosing who they should take into the group, on some kind of trial basis. That person would have to be watched very closely, though, which may not work while on the run, so then what do you do with them. I'm glad it's not up to me to make those decisions

It was love at first sight for me with this show!! I've been meaning to post on this thread for ages.

Comments after watching February 2th episode, "I Ain't a Judas"

Spoiler
:throw: at Andrea!! I wish that Maggie had told her exactly what happened when She met the governor-- or that Glenn had mentioned it. He's so into getting rid of the guy... maybe tell Andrea that her boyfriend did a little more than just plain old interrogate Maggie. But then again, seeing as she does have poor judgment, she may have bought some "protecting our people" explanation from the governor for his interrogation style.

Speculations about the episode "Clear" airing on March 3rd

Spoiler
I'm very concerned about the fate of Judith (I like Daryl's name for her better, though) if the group has to leave the prison... which it seems like they might. I mean, how can you stop a little baby from crying and thus attracting Walkers? I guess with good sound-proofing in a vehicle-- and clear roads-- it could work. I've been debating whether I think the poor kid will make it through the season. If she's ever zombified, well, that would be freaky.

Has anyone else read the two novels??

 I'm very relieved glad that you and the seller were able to communicate and get the feedback problem resolved!! I know you'd never even think of Considering scamming anyone, so I can understand why the initial feedback was so deeply upsetting. You've been in the MLP community for ages and certainly never done anything wrong in your transactions. I hope the seller does decide to sell the pony to you, since I know you'd love to have that pony-- plus the seller could have an honest sale and make back some of the money she's lost to the scammers  :)
