Yeah, I just noticed today that I have no idea what those are, and that different members have different amount of squares...

can some pony please enlighten me?

Well normally they are blocks and not weird smiley icons. What they mean I dunno.

They are "stars" (not sure why they are called that) and they correspond to post amount. More posts mean more "stars." I wanted to change them to butterflies instead of little yellow squares, but the nice fellow helping with the Arena (mattman) had to get back to his regular life.
