I have just realised, a few moments prior to confessing on this thread, at the age of 36, that the Baby Bonnet School of Dance is called that as it is shaped like a bonnet! Up til now I just wondered why it came with Baby Half Note and not  Baby Bonnet!  :what: :yikes: :drunk: :enraged:
I hasten to add I've never seen one in real life, and have only just noticed a photo of the rear view of one, but even so....
Has anyone got pics to post? I don't think I've seen one complete with all the accessories and funny coloured small creatures...

*hugs* Don't worry about it we all have our moments. I think mine is complete sadly I don't have any photos of it. Maybe someone else can help you out.

s'ok

my sister had that set!   it's funny because I remember the set being fun, but I didn't remember the BBE ponies being so scary looking!

You know, it looks like a baby bonnet from the side, but most pics are from the front.  I can see how it would be hard to tell.  :P

Hehe, that's ok! I can see how it could be overlooked :D

Unfortunately my mom made me get rid of mine since I didn't play with it that often :(

It is odd that Baby Bonnet School of Dance doesn't come with said pony in the title. I don't get it either.

Oh, I've done the same thing! Not with the playset, but with one of my childhood ponies, Brilliant Bloom. Until I was in high school and looked her up online, I had no idea her symbols were flowers! I don't know if the stylized stripes of color confused me or what, but I seriously had no clue what they were supposed to be. And same with Wind Whistler...I didn't have a toy of her, but she was one of my favorites, and yet for years, I had no idea her symbol was a bunch of whistles!

as a child without an aquarium, it took me a long while to reconcile "angel" with fish.

i'm pretty sure my childhood so-soft angel's name was fishy.

Thanks peeps! Still embarrased, but glad I'm not quite alone. The front views of the dance school look frilly, but I wouldn't have expected a dance school to be in a non dance school shape, if you get my meaning.
Thinking about pony names, I have always wondered why Applejack (my childhood grail) has 'Jack' in the name if eveyone calls it a girl. I didn't know 'til I just looked it up that an 'Applejack' is an  alcoholic American beverage?! Any further information I need to know in G1 land? The MLP Panini sticker album obviously didn't teach me enough as a child!

No worries!

I have my own bit of building confusion too! As there are two types of buildings in my eyes in the G1 range one where it is regular buildings.... Like the Show Stables, and Dream castle, Paradise estate and grooming parlour too I guess which are all regular type buildings that u would associate with stuff in the human world.

Then there is all the other building that are based on Giant objects which I perceive have also come from a human world and the ponies as supposed to be so 'little' they can live inside them! The reason why I think they are giant human objects is based mainly on the Satin Slipper Shoppe, as that is clearly a human babies foot shaped shoe ( not a giant pony shoe), and from that there is the giant baby bonnet, the giant perume bottle, the giant building blocks, babies bottle and safety pin that make up Lullaby Nuresery, ....... But to this day I still haven't for the life of me figured out what the heck the Crimp and Curl Hair salon is supposed to be!?!?!? It's just weird as to me it is neither a typical building or an iconic real world item!

Can any one help?

I always thought the Crimp and Curl Hair Salon is supposed to be a mirrored vanity, where a woman would sit at to do her hair/make up. Kind of an old-fashioned piece of furniture if that's what they were going for, but then again, I did have a real one and a toy one in the 80s, so maybe not...

Edit: Dream Valley describes it as a "dressing table", so yeah, it's a piece of furniture turned into a building: http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/5th_edition_accessories.html#perm_shoppe
