For 30 this is the cover:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

and for 53 I'm looking for the 'virgin' cover, which is the one without the words and title:
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

not to be confused with this version, which I already have the pleasure of owning:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Thanks for keeping me in your searches! And yeah, the sugar skull ones are really difficult to track down. I can't believe it's up that high! I heard it was a super low print run or something, hence the pricing...which is too bad because the art is amazing. I wish it was more widely distributed when it was available in stores.

Thanks for the solidarity! :) She's one of my favorite artists; especially her sugar skull covers! If I happen to come across that issue, either irl or online, I'll be sure to let you know!

howdy, all. I've been having trouble tracking down a couple issues and was hoping someone here on the arena might have em!

I'm looking for the comics & ponies exclusive variant cover for my little pony: friendship is magic #30, as well as the c2e2 exclusive "virgin" variant cover for issue #53.

I'd very much prefer to buy them, but am open to possible trades and have some other comic issues or g4 ponies to do so.

Personally, although I can be a bit of a dick on such things, I'd put up a claim saying they were not as described. Even sold "as is" a false description or an inaccurate one isn't ok. If you plan on keeping them but still feel cheated/bad about the whole thing I'd just leave honest feedback. Rate each interaction however many stars you think it really deserves and mention that some things weren't brought up in the description. Sure the seller might not like it, but posting bad listings and being allowed to "skim" on needed info is never good. Plus, if no one ever calls said person out on it there will be no reason for them to change it.

It's a bit more understandable if this person wasn't a collector and just an average joe, but even still, they should've known that the quality should've been listed as "used" based on your description.

The reason there are so many out right now of the crystal wave, (it's at almost all walmarts btw so no worries on just your one) is because the two new waves, wave 5 and wave 6, will be out within the next month and are replacing four. From what I've seen they've been selling just as well if not better since this is the first "all crystal" set out there making it special from the other sets. (and three if you still find them lol) The stores are clearing out their remaining inventory, so if you still need wave 4 I'd suggest now would be a great time to go shopping.
The only problem is that, if walmart doesn't get rid of these fast before the next wave... we won't -see- the next wave.... 5 boxes of the same wave is not a good sign here a lot of the time I:

I would agree.  It does tend to push the stocking of the new one, (and if not stocking, putting out on the shelf) later than should be. My guess is with five you're looking at a month or so later release.    But, some good news is that mine had five two, and with two left they just put out two wave five boxes and it only took a few weeks to get down to that and I'm in a fairly small town so  chin up it shouldn't take too long.  ;)

Off Topic / Re: how do I keep it from dieing completely?
« on: December 15, 2012, 11:53:20 PM »
I am apart of a gaming forum and it hasn't had any activity in forever. I want to get activity back to it, I really like it there the staff is really nice. However I have never really tried promoting forums or getting members to a forum.

Any tips to keep a gaming forum from dying?

lol that's a tricky question. Gamers are very fickle and their attention tends to drift fast from one thing to the other, (at least me and my friends were when I was heavily into games) and it's hard to revive a near dead/dead forum if only because of the "been there done that" attitude that people get when seeing a dying forum, whether they were apart of it or not. Also a lot of Gamers, and probably forumites in general, tend to think that if a forum died off, it did for a reason and that can give people negative thoughts right off the bat.

I guess your best bet would be to start a bunch of modernized discussions on recent games. That was always the biggest thing for the group I hung out with. No one wants to read or discuss games from even six months ago, unless they were absolutely incredible or their favorite game of all time or the site is specified to older games. The biggest thing for revival I would have to say would be keep it up to date and modern.  If the site deals with all different systems (xbox/playstation/etc) this can be hard lol

The best tips I can offer for bringing a little life back would be to add

1. Discussion of modern games.

2. Discussion of favorite genre of gaming/game of all time.

3. Gaming companies; which ones are doing it right and which ones aren't?

4. What do you want to see in/from future games/genres/companies?

5. cheats/glitches found in games.

Hope this helps some. I'm not the heavy gamer I once was, but these were the hot topics back then and they never seem to go out of style. And don't beat yourself up to much about it, sometimes forums just die and there isn't anything that can be done. It sucks, a lot, especially when you love the site, but sometimes it's just the end for that forum.

As for bringing members in, I can't help you there. I would suggest going to other very big sites or popular gaming sites and posting a little ad there, but again I'm not really that good at that type of thing either.

July 6th and 7th in Indianapolis, Indiana.  :)

Thanks

Getting back on subject, I do think it would be great if the fair got an upcycle of an older gen pony, I know more than a few people who would love for a G4 Minty.

I've ordered from Lipin quite a lot in the past and had no problems. But I haven't bought from them recently so thanks for the heads up that their good rep is slipping, i might avoid them from now on. So sorry you've had such a bad time dealing with them, those blind bags are horrid.

Agreed. I've only ever had good experiences with them. The seller is from the actual factory at which the ponies are made, (In fact, if I remember correctly it is the Chinese company's account on ebay) and it's partly why they get ponies before they are sold in stores, along with error ponies. I've had no problems with them myself and things have arrived in good condition and in fairly good time, all things considered.

However, this would also account for why some of the blind bags have glue on them/paint errors and why some items paid for don't live up to there promise. It's a catch twenty two since the hassle for a refund/exchange  isn't worth the time it takes to actually get one.

Sorry to hear your experience was bad, I tend to be pretty leery of sellers from china in general for reasons like this and I hate to be proven right in that respect; especially from a seller I had finally hoped was fairly reliable.

Pony Corral / Re: Toxic Chemicals in Our Ponies?
« on: November 26, 2012, 03:10:14 PM »
Since this sort of on topic... What about dyes in general? Are there any dangerous dyes? Like maybe some plushes are dyed with some bad chemicals too? Just curious.

D': Is there any 100% "safe" toy? Or is it all like 99.9% safe.

Not sure about the rest of your question, (I know there are dangerous dyes, just not which ones or in what) but I can say there is no such thing as a 100% safe toy. Everything has something in it that is harmful, if you take it to the extreme, eating any kind of food or even breathing is technically detrimental to your health. The one has the potential to be riddled with either natural or man made chemicals, while the other causes you to take in continuous small amounts of carbon dioxide.
Neither ever really effect you but as you can see it sounds as if each one is killing you off right away and it needs to be fixed or else, "Oh noes! You'll die faster!"
I would say almost all toys that pass for being put on shelves (almost mind you, not all) are as safe for play as your going to get. As someone pointed out earlier, even wood toys contain their own hazards. It's about moderation and smart thinking. The only times those toys will be dangerous are if you melt them into a puddle and then suck up the air they give off or if you chew it into oblivion. Even then, you'd have to have a good amount for it to leave a permanent mark.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Questions about closing an Ebay store
« on: November 13, 2012, 02:40:55 PM »
I am trying to find certain questions to ending your subscription to your Ebay store. I'm searched all over Ebay and can only find conflicting answers and vague answers from Ebay.

First off, I only have buyitnows, but I have a LOT of them. I would like to know what is going to happen when I close the store. Some older pages on Ebay say they will immediately be charged the full amount to list. Some older sources also say they will end immediately.

Then I see some sources say they may be subjected to further fees. Wth? Can I please get an answer from someone who has experienced with closing their Ebay store. I see many people speculating but it seems like no one has an actual experience with doing it.

Basically, I have so many buyitnows, that it would cost me lots of money to close the store if this were the case. When I choose "Close Store" on Ebay, it tells me to choose if I want to end the listings or keep them on. But they don't specify what will happen when I choose one or the other.

First off you cannot close your Ebay store until after forty five days from your last sold listing having ended. If you sold something recently you have to wait a couple months in case the buyer decides to open a dispute against you. There is no way around this rule.

When I shut mine down they make you end all listings beforehand. Provided no one has bid on any of them, (in your case buy it now's) they don't charge you anything beyond the listing fees you agreed to when posting them. Again you can't get around this rule so if you close it up early no matter what they charge the 10 cents or whatever per listing. (at least when I stopped mine a couple years ago that was the case.)

That's pretty much it. Once you end it, you have two weeks where your store still stays online in case you change your mind before it finally disappears.

So in short,

You must wait 45 days till after your last sale happened.
You must pay the listing fees once you stop all of your current listings.
Two weeks waiting time before your account is disabled after you ask for it to be removed.

Hope this helps some. I'm afraid I can't remember if they made you pay the fees right away but I'm pretty sure that yes, they did. If it's going to cost you a lot I would suggest slowly downsizing into nothingness. Also when they say "extra fees may apply" it doesn't really mean jack. They need to write it in case they charge you for the fees or for previous fees you still owe them and you try and dispute it. It's purely legal mumbo-jumbo and you won't have any actual "mystery fees" popping up.
