indeed.  what really astounds me is HOW MUCH WORK it is to create fake paperwork, lie to people, and then remember all your lies.  if this seller had Brazilian common G1 ponies, they are still worth something!  why not sell them for what they are?

So true! It's not like Brazilian ponies go for pennies. Plus you'd be making whoever bought them happy, instead of sad and disappointed.

Just glad so many members here share the belief "honesty is the best policy."

I'm waiting for them to get released Stateside as well. Super excited about these, especially Firefly. The original Firefly plush was my very first pony, so I'd love to get the BF release of her. ^_^

That promo photo has some awesome looking stuff! 

I got a Pretty and Pearly Baby Sea Shimmer that I cleaned with Magic Eraser once... She went from pristine pearlize to spotty pearlize. 

She only had mild surface dirt when I cleaned her, so the damage was absolutely not worth it.
If I could go back in time, I'd tell myself to gently wipe her down with a microfiber cloth or something. Maybe.

On the other hand, I have a Beautiful Bows that desperately needs to be cleaned.
So I'd love to know if there is a safe way to give a pearlized pony a "deep" clean.

These are definitely my two favorites as well. I grew up with G1 as a kid, so I'll admit the nastolgia factor is probably in play there. I didn't realize it until making a check list of what ponies I have, but I really enjoyed the gimmicks as a kid. From flutter ponies to wingers and sweet heart sisters to brothers. I was a total sucker for the various gimmicks and molds!

I do enjoy the G3s for their unique diversity in color combos and creativity in design. Some of the cutie marks are really clever! I especially love the ones that go down the legs.

With the G1s getting so expensive nowadays, its fun being able to buy some of the G3s for pretty cheap still, too. I might have been older when they came out, but there were plenty of fond memories during their release as well. 

As everyone else has said, I think a basic wash with a Magic Eraser and brushing out their hair can do wonders. I still have my childhood collection, which I've kept on display for over a decade. Although I've been good about dusting the ponies, I didn't know how to properly clean them until fairly recently. (Started learning when I joined the arena and trading post.)

I thought most of my childhood ponies were in "bait" condition, but cleaning them showed me otherwise. A few are still baits, but most look amazing! It's incredible what a Magic Eraser and doll hair conditioner can do.

If you plan on selling, I think you'll probably get more money out of clean G1s than dirty G1s. And if you're debating on whether or not to keep them, seeing what condition they're really in might help you decide.

(Please note, this is assuming they are G1s we're talking about.)
