US Blind Bag Release Index- Where have they been found?
« on: January 16, 2012, 06:59:51 PM »
Seeing as just about everybody's looking for the Blind Bag ponies now that they've hit the US, I thought maybe we could set up an index of where they've been released. That way people looking for them will have a better idea of how close to them they were found.

Some basic details:
  • They're mainly popping up in Walmart, but recently several people have reported finding them at Toys R Us, and I believe there's been at least one report of them showing up in Target as well.
  • They are (generally) shelved with the other My Little Pony toys. Some people have reported finding them outside the pony section, so it might pay to check all over Toys if you can't find them in the designated MLP section.
  • If they're nowhere in Toys, try the Trading Cards section (generally at the front of the store). There haven't been any reports of them being found there yet, but as a lot of stores do have other blind-bag type toys there, they may have stocked them there.
  • They are priced at $1.98 each.
  • Only the first wave has been found so far.
  • The numbering system used to identify the original release still applies to the US-released ones. The number ID list can be found here: Blind Bag Cheatsheet
  • If anyone wants to call ahead and see if their store has them, to avoid wild goose chases, the UPC code is (according to this thread) 6 53569 63247 4. I believe all you need to do is call your store and give them that number.
Here's where they've been spotted so far. If anyone knows of a specific store they've been found in, I'll add that information in a spoiler tab under the state.:

an index would be a neat idea, maybe start a shared google spreadsheet?
(I'd like to see something like that for All Kinds of MLP releases)

I know of Utah and Ohio, if that helps you start.

Looked in Walmart- Columbia MO today and no dice, but they ARE rearranging all things pony. So maybe they're making room. Will try St. Louis Walmarts tomorrow.

Wait, blind bags are in the US now?! That is certainly news to me! Ooh I'll have to swing over to our local Target and give it a look see. I wonder where they'll put them... there's the pony aisle and then there's another awkwardly placed blind-bag aisle of it's own. I hope it's with the ponies!

ETA: oh now I see the thread, hee hee I'll definitely go to Target tomorrow and look. So far I think they've been pretty quick to get the pony stuff in, my brother works at corporate Target so I told him to let the girl's toys buyers know that they need MOAR PONIES! lol

Only Walmart? I would imagine they'll be released elsewhere as well unless they specifically say "Walmart Exclusive". Either way it won't hurt to check! We don't really have Walmart around here, and if we did I wouldn't know where it was haha. Hopefully Target will get them soon enough if they're not already there :)

I've found them at several walmarts in the Phoenix Area now... and I'm still watching several more that haven't reset their toy sections yet!

But they ARE out with the rest of the ponies in the TOY AISLES... NOT with the trading cards as I originally thought!

And so far, the 1st Walmart I found them at, had them hanging on pegs... the others... had them still in their box, sitting on the shelf...

They're for sure in Walmart in Broken Arrow/Tulsa OK.  They're back with the regular ponies, $1.98 a bag.  Buy the whole box and get them all at once.
