So many good options!

I picked Creamcicle. Really love them.
I also picked Cutesaurus. Wish I still had them.

I also picked Zig Zag. Such a classic friend  :)

Hello everyone,

Happy new year! Hope you have a great 2024.

What were some of your 2023 pony highlights? Mine were getting back mimic, some wild pony g1 finds and a big box of g1 baits I got from a friend.

I would love to hear your highlights! All gens are welcome :)

Cheers,

Luke

Pony Corral / Re: Ponies you renamed.

I've always thought of So Soft Twilight as 'Candlelight,' as it irritates me that Hasbro recycled names within the same generation. Her symbol is so obvious too; I could never understand why they'd gone with Twilight again. If I owned any of the other G1s with duplicate names, I'd probably rename them too.
I never renamed any of my childhood G2s, as I was familiar with their characters from the magazines & PC game.

I also call her Candlelight. Her symbol matches better as you said :)

Have you tried finding suppliers on Etsy? I know you can pay via IDeal on that site :)
Alternatively let me know which colours you're looking for. I can check if I have any.

Thank you so much! I'm looking to buy hair for tutti frutti, baby sunset and hair do bangles.

Hmm, deflocking first is up to you. I think if you start with an unflocked body, the reflocking would look better. But if the pony has nice patches of flocking, then do you really want to get rid of it?

That is the question. I'm not sure yet.

I would also recommend experimenting with something that doesn't matter if it doesn't work out so you can mess up without stressing over messing up your pony.  :)

Good idea. I have some baits laying around.

That's the easier way to flock, but I've done that too and you need to be very precise so the edges don't show.

How ponies were flocked originally and how other things are flocked is with a static gun. It makes an electrical charge that makes the flocking fibers stand up. So when you sprinkle them on the glue, they stick up, giving the soft fluffy feeling and look. Doing it without a static gun is possible, but the results won't be factory and it won't be as soft and fuzzy.

This is a static gun -

On eBay

And here is some flocking.

On Etsy

Thanks for the links. What if I deflocked the pony first and then reflock her? Or does that complicate things?

You don't just need flocking to reflock, you need a static gun. That is if you want it to stick up and look factory.

I've only seen static guns for sale online, mainly on eBay. You might be able to find static guns at a hobby paint shop, if there are any near you. Flocking you should be able to find at any craft store. You want rayon (I think?) in a fine cut.

I've looked into this extensively. It's not easy, or cheap.

Is it really that difficult? I'm glad you are sharing your knowledge with me.

I thought of just following this tutorial :  http://cherrycake.freeservers.com/SSTutorial.htm

Can you explain to me what a static gun is? I have never heard of it.

Customs / What flocking to use and where to get it

Hello everyone,

I'm (most likely) getting ahead of myself but I'm looking to buy flocking for a ss twilight I want to reflock.

I saw that stampendous fun flock in cotton ball white was used but I can't find the stuff anywhere. I also don't have paypal/credit cards.

My questions(s) are, where do I get it? And what is another good option for flocking which leads to a traditional so soft flocked look?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this :)

Thanks in advance!

Pony Corral / Re: Missing ponies you sold
« on: December 11, 2023, 04:23:06 AM »
Hello everyone,

I sold ponies out of necessity a while back. This may sound silly and overly emotional but I miss them. They were all very dear to me and I have replaced some of them but I still miss the ones I don't have back yet.

Annyone going through  the same?

I still feel a bit silly but I felt like sharing.

Not going through this, but just wanted to say that I don't think it's silly and it's good that you share your feelings. I hope you'll find them soon.

Thank you for your kind words :)

MLP Nirvana / Re: Advice on piggy hair

There was no ff foot Piggy Minty. Only these two: visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The tails seem to be thinner than on regular ponies- you might want to steal
a bit of hair from another pony.

Thanks for showing me. I meant a regular flat foot minty. Do you think I can take hair from her, a none piggy?
