Yes and the fact that they used the brand name My Little Pony without getting into trouble is pretty cool too! :p

I really doubt that they will get away with such a complete rip off of name, packaging, and the toy itself on a long term basis. Other than Taobao, has anyone found these in stores? It's possibly that Hasbro already cracked down on their manufacturer & the stock they had is getting sold on Taobao.

They are really wonderful! I haven't seen any in stores. I normally see the G3 My pretty Ponies and that's about it. Same soft plastic used for these G4 FS ones.. I would love to see them rereleased in another name though so I can buy them in my cheap stores. Fakies in the cheap store here are $2 each. Would love to see those for $2 each

There was a rumour - i.e. someone read somewhere that someone read that someone said they had heard someone found them in some European country - and I vaguely even remember a picture being mentioned but I don't know if it turned out to be false.

If they turn up anywhere it will be somewhere HB doesnt have a market probably but until someone finds one, I ll remain dubious like you.
