Pony Corral / Refurbished? Also, HI!
« on: November 07, 2021, 09:16:24 AM »
Hey everyone, it’s been ages!

I realized I’ve been pretty out of the loop for a while. Pony value seems all over the place and I’m curious if anyone knows the deal with the refurbished ponies on eBay? I’ve just never seen that label used so I’m not sure how we’re using it in the community. I was under the impression that shouldn’t be done with rare or uncommon ponies? I know so little these days  :drunk:

I found the Mushrump! I couldn't remember who made it but it's Colormist's site!

Let's see

I remember frequenting the Golden Autumn all the freaking time. Such a beautiful site. I think it gets a lot of traffic because it's still alive! And it's an angelfire site. That's amazing.

http://www.angelfire.com/80s/babygoldenautumn/index1.html

I remember going on silverfall's site when G3's were relatively new. I think she had one going before she took a break and strawberry reef continued on with a great library of ponies.

I'm trying to think if there are others that haven't been mentioned already.

OH! BabyIceCrystal had (has?) a site for her ponies and customs. SO CUTE. I went there a lot.

I also used to check the awards every year. Can't remember the name. Golden pony awards? It was a community awards site for customs and such.

There was also an RP going on that was sort of a dark story built on what could have happened after G1. Something about the fall of ponyland? I just remember thinking it was super interesting. I feel like it was built around a character called Silver Heart? I want to say she's the daughter of Sundance. Last "light" mlp. I know, I know.

Edit: It was called "My Little Pony: End of the Dream" and the character was Silver Dream.

Aaaaand the mushrump? Any of this sound familiar. I swear I didn't make it up.

Now I'm super excited to see how this goes. My ponies are still packed up from moving (quite a while ago, cough cough) so I haven't been able to tinker with the baits I stored away.

Thinking about hitting up an antique store next time I have a free minute to see if they have anything. I've seen a few people using some salon products as their retrobrite o.o

Thanks starrwolff.

I'm considering trying it but I think I need to find a good bait pony first. Most of my white ponies are also not quite bad enough to risk. Plus I was thinking it could be hard to keep the finer details from fading. BUT, given what it can do for computers I'm super curious about white ponies. Maybe even helping to fade ponies who are too dark?

I know sun fading is the normal method but if a light coat of retro bright for a short time could do the job that might be useful, or at least speed up the process. Hmmm

Beautiful color choices and her design is super sweet. Great job!

Customs / Retro bright?

Hey everyone,

Long time no see. I thought I'd pop back in and I brought a question with me. I've been watching some restorations of computers (of all things) and I got curious when I saw retro bright. I know how we used to do things when we needed to fade ponies or wanted to brighten up our whites, but has anyone tried using retro bright? I'm curious if the results are good. :what:

Sorry if this has been addressed in the past. It's literally been years since I've been on.

It's true. You don't have to purchase BP but it's pretty much become the second currency of PI, rather than an alternative for special things. There's so much of it floating around that you miss out on aspects of the site without it. PG can't even buy you everything you can get with BP.

If it's not wajas I'm afraid I don't know which one it is. I've probably seen it but I usually gravitate towards equine games, so I don't remember many about dogs.

@Asobi- I'll PM you on PI. I'm glad you found some friendly people. Sometimes new players just get attitude, which doesn't help anyone learn.

The auction is the fastest way to make large sums of PG & BP these days. Either auctioning rare breed/gene crosses or breeding pairs. The other option is the tattooing, which is what I do.

It's easier than it used to be, and if you're good at it or can find something the community likes, you can make millions in one go.

The dog game you guys might be thinking of is wajas? It was all the rage for a while.

I'm on FR and I still have a neo account, though they seem to be determined to make it less fun for people who just want to play without all the bells and whistles. At this point I've been frozen twice, but my current account seems to be safe.

@Asobi - I'm so sorry. There's been a lot of heated conversations about the way PI has become so exclusive over the years. It's always been pay to play but the wealth disparity alone makes the game extremely uninviting for new players. I also don't think we've had a current or active tutorial in almost a year now? Admittedly I took a long hiatus but that's what others have been saying.

Right now the game kind of punishes new players with BP requirements (game income you have to purchase with real money) to get anywhere in the game and/or the market. No biggie for older accounts with tons of spare BP and millions of PG, but new users start with almost nothing and are hit hard. The best way to catch up is making tattoos for ponies if you can.

If you decide to pay let me know, I'll do what I can to help you. I'm Eos over there.

Flight Rising is very friendly to new users, I think. You don't need to purchase gems to get everywhere in the game and you can earn them slowly just by being active. Treasure comes easier too.

A sim would probably be the most accurate. Something like PI, but less hindered by time constraints if possible. I know there will be some, but 20 days is pushing it for me.

I've tried howrse and while I still have an account, I'd prefer something else. I'd like to be able to breed my pets, but it's not a requirement I suppose. More fun in the long run I think.

Thanks for the replies.

Hey guys,

Long time no see. Well, I lurk once in a blue moon but I haven't been really active in a while.

I'm back on PI and I'm curious if anyone knows any similar sites with a casual edge to them. I like to play but I'd like to be able to do things more when I have time, so maybe less of the waiting game.

I checked the rules to see if it's alright to ask about other sites and didn't see anything, but if it is my apologies. I frankly have no idea what's changed.

If there's already a thread and I missed it, I'll get rid of this one.

Thanks!

Right now I'm putting off a battle in shadow of mordor <<

Otherwise, minecraft and I'm waiting to play a few that won't be out for a while. Sadness.

Edit: does anyone know if zoo tycoon 2 still works reasonably well on windows 8.1? I'm tempted but I don't want to screw anything up.
