Hey all!
So tonight I started painting my first custom g4 pony.
I'm using students acrylic paint as it's all I have on hand.
The magenta I started using seems to be very transparent and streaky even after a few layers, and when I put my nail on it, it literally just flaked off!
So, my question is... Does anyone here use a base sealant before they start painting to get a bit of grip?
I'll be buying some Mister Super Clear soon for my Monster High Custom.
Could that work on ponies too? Or would it damage the vinyl?

Or, is it the quality of my paint? I tried a bit of magenta mixed with white, it was less transparent but still lifted easy.

Help? I really want to finish my very first custom!

I clicked G2. I haven't ever really been into G2s, I grew up with G1s, and then started collecting when G3 was out.
A few months ago I would have clicked G4 straight away, but they have been growing on me since buying a few ponies.
I'm sure that'd be the same after I purchase a G2 *goes and researches G2*
But yeah I can honestly say I like all Gens but G1 and G3 are my fave!

Hmmmm tough! I would prefer other gemstones/crystals set in a big chunky ring than diamonds.

But right now...i would LOVE $1000 worth of ponies!!

Cant we have both?! hahaha or how about a $500 ring and $500 of ponies!!

Hey! I'm Pixie Pony!
I'm 27 years old and I live in Melbourne, Australia
I'm a stay at home mum of 2. I have a almost 3year old girl and a 10month old boy. They are my whole world
I have loved my little pony since I was little and had a vast collection of g1s, but as I grew we got rid of them (kicking myself!)
I started collecting again in 2006-ish.
I LOVE G3s! They are my favourite.
I got a few ponies during that time, not heaps but enough to warrant the start of a collection!
I stopped collecting around 2010 when I fell pregnant with my first born.
Life was way too hectic. They were always in the back of my mind though!
So now, 2013 I've started again!!!!
I'm still all about the G3s.
My collection is growing fast. I can't wait to share this passion with other pony lovers around the world.

Fun fact: I have 2 my little pony tattoos and plan on getting a whole lot more!!
