Being on a massive G3 trip as of late, I'd wanted to know how the G3 characters are holding up. I know lots of pony fans love Minty (me included), but what about the others that were more prominent in the specials?
Please try not to be influenced by how beautiful you think the toys are ;)
I think G3 had a bunch of really endearing characters and sometimes I wish they'd done a proper cartoon series. One of these days I want to do fanarts and the three most popular out of this poll will be the first to be drawn :)
My own choices: Minty, Wysteria, Star Catcher
Honorable mentions: Rarity, Kimono, Thistle Whistle (I love characters with ticks, haha!)

Thistle Whistle and Sunny Daze are definitely my favourites from the G3 cartoons.
I also quite liked Skywishes! :lol:

How I'm not allowed to vote for Thistle Whistle three times at once is beyond me. :( And the lack of Zipzee is also making this difficult.

The only MLP cartoons I've ever watched were the originals from the '80. I still wanted to vote so I chose Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Wysteria.
See, when I watch cartoons, I don't care about their personalities. That never affected my feelings about a toy. In fact, I don't really remember anyone's personality...except for Firefly. I decided on the plots and personalities when I played, which has nothing to do with a cartoon.

And the lack of Zipzee is also making this difficult.
Breezies aren't ponies to me. Zipzee is a total cutie, though! Maybe I'll target them some time in the future and then ask about favorite Breezies ;)

1st Minty, 2nd Star Catcher, 3rd Thistle Whistle. ^.^ .
Those are my three main favorites, and I need to do a list of the others, but I love so many G3 ponies.

Star Catcher was my favorite as a child. I love Thistle whistle for her whistling, and Minty because of her socks! (and shes just really cute)

Besides Thistle Whistle, I ended up going with Wysteria--who goes through a huge emotional range, and has a wonderful gardening song--and Rainbow Dash--who confidently assures her friends that she'll tell them where rainbows come from, and then proceeds not to know the answer at all.
(I'm kind of glad that Razzaroo isn't on the poll, because I feel guilty about not liking her. Not sure why Sweetie+Scoots bumped off Skywishes, though.)

I simply forgot to add Skywishes ^^;
But I also didn't put StarSong and Toola-Roola on there. Good I didn't forget the "other" option, so everyone is free to tell me they prefer a pony that's not on the list.

I really need to sit down and watch all of the G3 specials. I've only seen A Very Minty Christmas and bits and pieces of the others so I don't have a good idea of the characters.
But from what I've seen my favorites are Rainbow Dash, Wysteria, and Minty.

I'm currently going through the specials one by one to refresh my memory and some of them are really entertaining for what they are. Princess Promenade has the best Spike moments, what a sophisticated little thing. Sadly most of the ponies' characterizations fell flat, but when you love G3 you take what you can get. G3 Rainbow Dash is basically a G4 Rarity prototype, it's fabulous. Daahling~

Don't remember the G3 cartoons very well since I only watched them a few times, but I think I remember Sweetberry running and ice cream shop which makes me think of Tales Starlight so I chose her :)

I like Minty. I like her cause of her colors and her symbol!

Sunny Daze, Kimono, & Star Catcher. If I could've picked a fourth it would have been Thistle Whistle.

My favourites are Sparkleworks, ("spectacular!") Sunny Daze & Wysteria.
Wysteria's particularly endearing in Princess Promenade, I love how she refused to treat her friends any differently when she was made princess.
I also like G3 Spike the best out of all his incarnations, he has some hilarious lines. :lol:
I was disappointed when Kimono never re-appeared after A Charming Birthday, I always assumed it was because she wasn't pink enough, bahah.
Triple Treat & Puzzlemint are really cute as well. :)

Minty is an easy pick for me, but choosing a runner-up is hard. Star Catcher, Kimono, and Wysteria are all right up there.
G3 has far more characterization than most folks give it credit for having.
You have the adorably clumsy, ditzy Minty. The wise Kimono (so wise she lives outside of town - now that's wise!), the all-knowing, wish-granting Star Catcher, the gardener turned reluctant princess Wysteria, the fashionista Rainbow "Darling" Dash (and you'd be hard pressed to not see G3 Dash's inspiration for G4 Rarity), the tomboy Sunny Daze, and the only sane mare Pinkie Pie.

I don't really have a strong connection to those listed, so I chose 'other.' I kinda like Butterscotch. In the book where they go to the carnival (Fun at the Fair?), she found some stickers for get scrapbook. Even before I started buying ponies for myself, I'd read this to my girlie and liked our shared hobby.

I remember liking Kimono and Rainbow Dash.
I liked that Kimono was a wise hermit, living away from the other ponies.
G3 RD and G4 Rarity would be best friends. Or perhaps bitter rivals. XD

I voted Star Catcher, Thistle Whistle and Cheerilee :) Would love to see the first 2 in G4 form though (including seeing them in FiM), especialy Star Catcher :huh: I'm assuming that you mean G3 unicorn Cheerilee in this poll because she was beautiful and so nice :)
I also liked Lily Lightly in the cartoon, so cute and pretty and I could sympathize with her feeling different and being afraid of not being accepted :huh: On a side note, her toy wasn't that pretty with those blinking eyes, that dress and hard plastic body but I bought her anyway because I like her character :) Would have loved it if they had at least made her with a normal plastic body and no blinking eyes :(

Me too! Since Hasbro likes making alicorn princesses, Star Catcher should be a natural choice.

My favorite G3 character is Zipzee, and pretty much the only G3 toy I actually want (though that may change). Her whole allergic to flowers schtick got old fast, but she's still pretty cute. That, and she's voiced by Andrea Libman. I also like Thistlewhistle, again because her whistle thing is really cute.
